    Chewable Vitamins vs Swallowing

I take 2 flintstones chewables with a b12 and D3. I chew them all together. The flintstones are so flavored that i dont notice the others. I think taking capsules with water makes me feel over full and then i start burping a LOT. Chalky chewable seems to work for me. I did find vit D chewables at Amazon too

    May 2024 Surgery Buddies 😁

5 months into GB (surgery date 5/9/24). Ive lost 44lbs in 5 months and have a goal to loose 50 more. Weight loss has reaaallly slowed down to next to nothing. Thise 3 lbs came back and i lost 1! I have started walking more. I do notice I’m craving sweets. I also notice i don’t seem to have dumping syndrome that many of you talk about so i really don’t fear eating things i shouldn’t. That scares me because i think thats part of the equation with this surgery. Today gonna start concentrating on how do i feel. Am I really hungry or just craving something.
  3. Yes. Not quite perfectly yet but I do it all the time now!!
  4. My win for the day… i set a reminder on my phone to take my vitamins!! I can walk by them all day and forget them.

    May 2024 Surgery Buddies 😁

Good morning! Im 143 days into lapband revision to GB and down 41lbs. I had a 3 week plateau. I was not eating enough protein and was starting to snack. (Death in family , depression, weather is terrible) perfect storm for over eating. So anyway . .. if anyone is struggling my recommendation is to tell your team. They hooked me up with a counselor, im taking some depression meds to het me through this tough time, dietitian gave me some tips, and really supported me. I lost 3 lbs this week!! Hang in there and talk it out.

Strangely my husband (no surgery) has had a dumping syndrome daily after breakfast for over a year. We have tried no gluten no lactose no caffeine and it continues. He takes immodium every morning (doctors order) maybe, for you, surgery has awakened some other issue ..

You are doing great. My doc said as ling as its going in the right direction there is no right amount. I am also losing about 1kg a week and it feels slooooow. But I also measured everything when I started and realized I have lost 2 inches ! So when the weight is slow there is another motivator! Slow and steady….

Had vacation with friends last week. A bit worrisome. I read everyone having dumping syndrome and restriction that helps keep you ‘honest’. I cant say i had any adverse effect. We ate out daily. I did watch my portions and proper mechanics- no drinking 30 min After eating. Had a bite of a donut, one day ice cream, a variety of small things that i should not have eaten, a fry or two…..I did not get sick —however, i also only lost 0.5lb this week :( So this week back on track! I still have 85lbs to shed.

I had the same feeling at first. But the important thing is that you personally are going in the right direction. Slow or fast doesn’t matter. (Although i would love the weight to ‘go’ faster). Im at 9weeks and every week shows a tiny bit of progress.
  10. On your plate. The fruit and veggies section is more protein. Need balance. I think i would go back to basics for a week.. 1 cup breakfast lunch dinner. Replace one meal with a protein shake. Reboot your mind and follow the post op plan for a guide.

6 weeks post op. 21lbs since surgery and 25 overall from highest weight. Im losing about 1.5-2lbs a week. But i can go all week and not lose an ounce. Then suddenly 2 lbs are gone! They say the insides with staples still need time to heal. Just because you cant see it have to remember those sutures heal slower. I have to remember just because something doesn’t make me ill doesn’t mean i should eat it! I had 2 cookies at a wedding. Didn’t bother me at all but i didn’t drink after and i probably burned all the calories walking and dancing!

6 weeks! I was staring to struggle with water water water. Flavor mixes give me heart burn. Dietitian recommended using fruit juice to flavor the water. Its good! But be sure to really dilute and just flavor the water or it will go right through you ( sugar in the juice).

    Hummus and what?

I think the ‘no’ on crackers is more to do that it sticks together once in your pouch and can cause a clog. I would agree sticking to straight up hummus is better.
  14. Here is an interesting video interview of a surgeon about sneezing and hiccups. https://youtu.be/ABBEE6S95HA?si=8Y8j60odyphkYFoa

30 days post op! I still have two incisions that we are fighting to heal. Down 15 lbs from surgery day! Today i had my first experience with dumping syndrome. I was visiting my mom and did not have one of my shakes for lunch, so she gave me an Equate nutritional shake with protein. 60 minutes later I was miserable. I know i don’t wish to repeat that!! It was literally the only outlier. Had my normal shake for breakfast. Now I’m just drinking water because i want to be sure its over.
