    6th - 12th June. Pledge your points!

Hi All, I am pledging 15 points this week, that is 150 minutes of exercise/activity for the week. I forgot to post last week, but managed to think about moving/exercise all the same. I notice the more I get out and about the less time I spend on the computer! Come on and join in...everyone welcome. Booklean
  2. Hello Everyone and Welcome, This is week 3 and we are continuing with this fun way of catching up with exercise. This thread is for everyone who needs motivation and encouragement to get moving and to help make us accountable to ourselves and one another. The Plan is to draw up a new thread each week, running from Sunday to Saturday. You are awarded "Points" for exercise and everyone works to their own ability. You get 1 Point for every 10 minutes of exercise. You choose whatever activity you wish. Each week you pledge your points on board - making a committment to achieve them, and then you strive all week to achieve your own goal. You keep your own score and at the end of the week you must let us all know just how well you did. Hopefully, this will be FUN! We are looking for EVERYONE to join in, so come on and Pledge your points!

    23rd - 29th May - Pledge your points!

Today I am exactly 1 month post-op and the scale tells me I have lost a total of 20lbs. I have never lost 20 lbs in a month before so I am pleased. I have a problem with exercise which I think was the main reason I gained the weight in the first place. I am trying to get back into the exercise habit. When I was younger I played several sports but eventually became a couch potato. Now I am trying to walk as regularly as possible. i often leave the car and walk to the newsagents etc and count 1 point for every 10 minutes walk/stroll. I also have 2 beautiful little pups and I also take them for walks. Hope your new living room gym works out well for you, and gets you loving it. I hope to continue keeping this thresd going every week, perhaps sooner or later others will want to join in too.

Hello All, Great to see you are all doing so well. The good news is that any type of activity counts- work or play! 10 minutes of any type of sustained activity = 1 point It's a double bonus to get your yard work done or the dogs walked or to just have fun. Keep up the good work and log back in here on Saturday to let us all know what worked for you, or what didn't as the case may be. I aim to walk my little dogs every day. They enjoy it so much, I should learn from them. Booklean

9-15 May - Pledge your Points!

Hi Stacey, You are well on your way. Only another 110 minutes of activity to clock up before Saturday night. I am just back from a 45 minute walk, where I will be awarding myself 4.5 points. I really should be able to walk this distance in approx 35 minutes, but I did my best, and get the extra points for being slow! What's nice about this is that we chose Our own activity, work at our own pace and select our own goals. So keep up the good work, Booklean

What are you doing to get moving today?

Hi MiniMe, Thanks for starting this thread, I really need something like this to get me motivated. I have an idea which I would like to add to yours, I hope it will inspire everyone to exercise at their own potential. What I suggest is this:- We adopt a point system and each person choses the number of points they wish to aim for, and then commit to achieving that number of points for the week. 10 minutes of doing any type of exercise = 1 Point. What do others think? Would anyone like to join in? We could start a new thread at the beginning of each week if necessary. Would love to get moving! Booklean

    Hooray I'm sleeved!!

Hi Lyn, Welcome home! Yes, I agree with you- They are really great in Belgium. I had a wonderful experience there too, and I would most certainly recommend them. I am so glad I went there. Very efficient and so so friendly. I am just a week ahead of you, and lost 7lbs the first week and 4 lbs the second. I am pleased with that. I am actually enjoying the food, maybe a little too much. I am eating 70 grams protein per day but seem to be consuming 600-800 KCals per day, mostly around the 700. The very best of Good Luck to you, Keep in touch, Booklean

    5% of 1%?

Figures and % are v interesting. Could it really be true that 1% of the population are sleeved or have any kind of weight loss surgery? That seems alot. Also, could it be possible that a higher than average % of athetists are obese compared to believers? Could it be possible that athetists who are overweight/obese are more likely to do something about it? Anyway, congrats for being 1 in a million!
  23. Hi Tiffykins, Seeing is believing! Congrats on your weight loss. You are an inspiration to us all. Keep up the good work- We need you! Booklean
