5 more days and I start soft food. I am so scared. I have actually been loving puree and would just stay right here if I could!! I am still stalling and not liking it Hopefully soon it kicks back in. Hopefully they release me to the gym the 30th.
I hope it keeps working for you for sure. Everyone has to figure out what the right surgery for them is. I made the wrong decision for me sadly because I was scared to death to get cut on inside. I finally gave in and wish I chose this in the first place. I am pretty sure the sleeve is the right one for me. I finally feel the restriction I could never accomplish all those years. The sleeve smacks my hand like I am a child which is exactly what I needed lol I can tell by your chart that you are doing awesome. Keep up the good work!
My blood sugar numbers are staying high and I dont understand that because the only sugar I have had was in the creamer in hubbys coffee I sipped one day. They prepared me and told me what meds to stop when it got low during pre op diet....never got low and still isnt. I am down 37 pounds all together since starting.
Im moving to puree. I had some re-fried Beans and taco meat (hubby made) blended it up and melted some cheese....omg SO GOOD!. After so much nausea for the time since surgery it was nice to enjoy something without feeling sick. How are you all doing and what stage re you at?
I agree 100% it is not what they said it was supposed to be. I got info and when I had it did nothing of what it said. I never got restriction only eat or puke no happy middle so I happily puked 125 pounds off. The band doesnt work for everyone even if they follow rules! This person needed someone to say I understand and the band can suck sometimes not judgement.
I had the band for 6 years and it gave out on me. I was told by my Dr the Band wasnt meant to have forever. It will eventually have to be replaced or have another surgery. My Dr will not put another band in me because it has caused some damage over the years and I no longer empty my stomach normally. It is called gastroperesis. I am getting sleeve surgery on the 23rd to hopefully fix the damage the band has done. For a while I was a raver about the band and how amazing it was....until it hurt me. I think that is the problem of some people the band has hurt them and they dont like it anymore. Like a break up of sorts.
I am on ssi also and medicaid covers the surgery. They make you jump through alot of hoops but it is worth it. And when they say you have to have 7 months of nutrition therapy make sure YOU GO! I messed up and ended up having to go 9 months. I wish you well and hope it works!
Is there anyone still on here? I am having my surgery feb 11th and I am so nervous and so excited! I have read dr swains profile thing and glad there are good comments about him. Murray hospital scares me to death! I hope all goes well!
