  1. Happy 52nd Birthday MingoLingo!

  2. I add mine to Soups or chili. People say you can mix it with just about any food. The unjury brand states on the side of the jar not to heat to a temp. over 130.

    Feeling Fine

There is usually no fluid in the band when it is placed, so you have very little to no restriction. Your restriction will come after you heal and start getting fills.
  4. I had my first fill on Tuesday and did clear liquids for the day. Back to regular food on Wednesday.

    supplemental protein

I have been using the unflavored GNC brand and it works for me in hot food or soups.
  6. I had no pre-op diet requirements or testing.

    Vitamins...?

I had my surgery on 2/1/10 so I am not having any issues with my vitamins so far. I was out of calcium so I got Viactiv chewy and chewable Vit. C from Sam's. I was looking at multi-vitamins and I saw that a liquid-gel cap is available at BJ's, made by Nature Made I think. I still have enough for now, so that I will research it a bit more before buying something. I would like to buy a gel-cap Pre-Natal multi-vitamin, but haven't seen any that are affordable yet.

    3 Days Post-Op and I'm Hungry!

I really wasn't that hungry the first week. Sugar free lifesavers or hard candy helps. I could drink as much of the clear liquid as I wanted and I always added protein to broth and sugar-free juices.

    Bummer...

Slider means the food pretty much just slides through the pouch into your tummy, thus not triggering the "full" signal to help you stop eating sooner. Everyone has different experience with foods so most everyone will have different slider foods. Some foods though, will be sliders for just about everyone. I had surgery on 2/1/10, so I am still learning. In fact, today is my first real meal of mushies since surgery. I FF refried Beans and I made them AWESOME!! Not a slider for me.:tongue_smilie:

Was anyone banded on Feb 4??

I was banded on Feb 1st with the Realize band. I am still on creamy soups/liquids/yogurt/puddings type food. I move to mushies next week. I think I am down almost 20 pounds since surgery.
  14. I saw my surgeon three times before the day of banding which was 2/1/10. No follow-up calls from the office at all. That really pissed me off, but whatever. The hospital out-patient center called the next day after my surgery.
  15. I just let mine "wear" off in the shower. I had no restrictions about bathing or showering after surgery.
