So my husband and I went out on our monthly date on Saturday night and I decided to try a jalapeno popper since I love jalapenos. But to my dismay, I felt this really persistent burning in my throat when I swallowed it, as if it didn't go all the way down. My husband told me to drink a little bit of Water to help it down but this did not help either. So here I am, 2 days later, and I still have a really bad burning in my throat and my chest hurts like I have heartburn, my jaw hurts and I have been getting shooting pains behind my ears. Has anyone else had this happen to them? And if so, how did you get rid of it? I am so uncomfortable right now!

Almost a Year after Surgery....and soooo Happy!
PolynesianLady replied to CynthiaMTR's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congrats! It's such a relief to know that losing just over 40lbs in my first year is about the same for others. I was feeling so depressed when I hit my year mark on January 21st. I told my husband that I wish I had lost over 100lbs because I see most others doing it but my husband reminded me that I would have NEVER lost anything without the Band. He's right. So CONGRATS and keep up the great work! I will be trucking right along side you! -
Why do some people not need a fill?
PolynesianLady replied to cheechtrish's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my band in January of 2010 and my last fill was July 2010. I never felt hungry and I was losing about 2-3lbs a month. My doctor told me this was normal weight loss. (I guess so) But then January of 2011, I started noticing that I was able to eat more and I was getting hungry alot faster so I went to get another fill and when my doctor looked at my band, she said that there was no way to put any more saline in. My band is still tight! It's amazing but I guess it just depends on the person as to whether you need a fill or not. I'm pretty amazed that my band has lasted all this time and no fill is needed. Good luck! -
I am so glad I'm not the only one that's frustrated. I was near tears at my year mark visit and I told my doctor that I feel like I'm eating so little and still not getting any AWESOME results from it. I had my surgery 12 months ago and I've lost about 40lbs and it seems so small compared to others on here that have lost over 100lbs in their first year. My husband tells me that I have lost alot of inches but even the inches stopped. I might just start doing the shakes in the morning and at night. I usually pack a lunch for work so I don't overeat but it's getting aggravating. Thanks for all the posts on here. You all are great!

questions about I can change diet
PolynesianLady replied to caflower's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My insurance required a diet plan of 6months prior to surgery so I know how you feel. My doctor told me that it was because they need to see that you are willing to start changing your eating habits prior to having this surgery. Remember: This is a lifestyle change, not just a get skinny quick plan. Hope this helps you and good luck!
