Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Eat carefully and enjoy the family (or the ones that will allow you to enjoy them). Smile and know we all have friends here at LBT. Joyce

Hope this post gets on - line. This new site is very confusing. Just wanted to say, "I'm here". Doctor suggested, no change - no fill/unfill. Just keep on working the band. Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends.

Hello from Guam - eating has been a real challenge here and while traveling. I've been hungry most of the time. Fear trying new things (don't want to vomit). Finding my way around the resort and restaurants to discover items that will work for me and eating very carefully. Should have brought Kashi (may go to store today). Have friends here who brought me a bullet blender, milk, and peanut butter to mix with individual shake packets which I brought from home. Also brought me some yogurt. Find the salmon mostly overcooked & adding tartar or soy sauce to make it go down. Sliced deli turkey, I roll around cheese. Scrambled eggs and hard boiled (when available). Asian soup with tofu and onions. Yesterday some tuna salad was available. Of course, buffets are best choice with lots of selections and ability to eat very small portions. Internet is very slow here - so may not be able to check in again. Doing lots of walking and enjoying family. Forgot my camera, so won't have many pictures, altho some are being posted on Facebook by my daughter-in-law here. Miss all of you. I'm expecting weight loss after this trip. Will be here until the 15th.

Just a quick drive by -- after fill last week and LOTS OF STRESS, I have returned to my lowest weight since surgery. Have discovered that extreme stress and frustration can cause weight loss for me - for the first time in my life. Looking forward to "running away from home" on Monday morning at 7 a.m. Miss all of you. Have NOT read thread - no time.

Cheri & Apples - good to hear that fraud departments will key in on Desert Rose. Laura - so happy DH is home and all of you are reconnected. Arlene - wonderful to see families enjoying the fall season & that you can watch strollers & wee ones while they experience with older children DS will arrive at midnight tonight and hopefully we will begin finding apt. tomorrow.
-
I believe we have found the common thread in our compromised cc cards - Desert Rose. I used mine there, at the Mad Onion and at Chico's. Eva - absolutely not your fault. No way you could have known. I loved the resort. It was perfect for our gathering. Cheri - I agree with the suggestion to call Las Vegas police. We might help out future guests by preventing problems for them.
-
Arlene - I used the lobby cash machine (debit) - not yet showing problems. Also used Visa card for room and many other locations. My charges were from India and Canada and over the internet - fraudulent charges. Good luck to both of us. Will watch all charges "like a hawk" from here on. I like using my cc for points (like Apples). Also don't like to carry alot of cash. Eva - YOU GO GET 'EM girl - they can't take away your retirement after 25 years plus 9 years. Get them.
-
Eva - love, love the pictures. Wish I could have shared lunch with you at that lovely place. Wow WARNING - my Visa credit card was (also) compromised in Las Vegas (I bet). Apples mentioned she had problems upon returning from Vegas. Card was just denied at the groomers. Charges in Canada, and India, as well as, the US. Watch you bills, ladies. For those who used credit cards in Vegas. A little good news to share, yesterday and today ppl have mentioned that I'm sure losing weight. NO ONE has noticed anything before this. NSV yippee LauraK - drama may reach fever pitch beginning Sunday. We are moving 42 yr. old son from Nevada back to K.C. to start his life over. I'll be finding an apartment for him and his dog next week and getting him settled. Then pack and leave for Guam on the 1st. Running away from it all.

Eva - love hearing about your trip and seeing picture of gorgeous setting. Also, glad I could make everyone laugh. So excited to hear "it's a girl". Gd'ma Lori will dress her like a princess. Laura - enjoy the honeymoon, so glad DH is home safely. Apples - love the pink hat complete with dust. Busy day today - must get started.
-
Cherie - glad all went well. Hoping the gas will stay away. I was fortunate and didn't have any at all.
-
Janet - so sorry to hear about your sis. And congrats on putting the candy back - you are right, it won't help. Thank you for sharing these two thoughts together. All of us have used food to solve stress. We need you to remind us that, even after success, that old habit tries to reappear. Thank you for being so open. Joyce

Phyl - hope I'm not stubborn like your uncle - but bet I will be. Go glad Earl is doing better. And you get a Pass on stress eating for the day. Now back on plan. Lori - can't wait to see the sex of baby. Good luck with family visit. Karen - thanks for the perfect tips for the day. Really hit the target for my Kansas City drama today.
-
Arlene - I had a fill yesterday. She mentioned she could tell I needed it, b/c "it didn't push back". That seems to confirm to slow insertion of Fluid in the band that you mentioned. Eva - you were missed. Glad you are safely home.
-
Sandy - I'm IN for breaking the plateau together once I return from Guam. I anticipate losing while I'm gone too. The Asian diet is NOT my favorite - like American food - so it is easy for me to eat moderately. Arlene - I have flown thru Hawaii and Houston to reach Guam - but, Karen is right, this time thru Minneapolis. Karen - thanks for thinking about that 4-5 hr drive, if it was not harvest time. Jodi - your cup runneth over. Lucky, lucky day for you. Let us know about the interview. Yes, the e-diet book is very helpful. Thank you again.

Welcome jedP. Janet is right, this is an individual journey for each of us. I chose the band, like you, being sick of lose/gain cycle. I've maintained 31 lb lose for 4 months now and will tackle the remaining 34 lbs. as I begin to exercise. Laura - so happy DH will be home soon. You've done a great job keeping Nels busy while Dad was away. Phyl - sending hugs to you and Earl and hoping surgery went smoothly. Arlene - You keep rocking that exercise - you inspire me. Karen - enjoy that harvest. I just love to hear someone who enjoys their work. For me, it was always about the $$$$$ and doing the great job. Never enjoyed the work. Except when I was a Diet Center counselor. However, now I know that was all baloney. What was in those magic pills???
-
Karen - I think you should GO FOR IT. As you said, it is an irritation and would just complete the journey/transformation. Lori - I candle ears for my friends and family. Had some in my suitcase in LV, but no time to use them. Salons charge $60+ to do it for you. Glad your ear is better. Cheri - hope the conference isn't too dull. Janet - I understand about the trainer being friend/workout partner/ shrink. The trainer I had for 2 years was all that to me too. He has found a better position with a university here and I have not found another that holds a candle to him. But - will try again once I return from Guam.

Any Kansas City bandsters???????
ladykcusa replied to ladykcusa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definitely follow your doctors instructions. However, I flew to Florida in July and Las Vegas in October and had no problems on either flight. Of course, no food was served anyway, but thought I'd share I had no problems to relieve some stress. I spoke to doctor yesterday about an international flight (25 hours) to Guam. He advised that I remain on liquids during the flight - no chewing. FYI You might call and clarify if the liquid instruction is just DURING the flight. -
Miss Cherita - Wow - you rock girl. Keep up the good work and start that exercise so you make it all the way to goal. I had a fill yesterday and doctor advised me to start exercising too. We can do it.
-
ISA - congrats on turning around your weight loss. The motivation and decision to "take control" should be celebrated. Lori - I will travel alone to Guam. 1 1/2 to Minneapolis, (4 hr. layover), then 13 hours to Tokyo, then 4 hours to Guam. I will definitely buy the Bose phones. Karen - thanks for suggesting the larger ones. I'll do that. Janet - still not cooking, but much more on target with food choices. Had a small fill today - with only 11 days before I leave, doctor didn't want me to be unable to eat. He recommends only liquids while I fly - no chewing. Should be interesting. Also encouraged me to get a trainer - your advice to me in LV. Will do it when I return. Julie - sounds like you have everything under control for the wedding. Enjoy - can't wait to see pictures. TX - you are doing so well. Keep up the good work. LauraK - enjoy girl's weekend. Hi to all.
-
Cherie - you will be fine. We ALL experienced concerns the night before. Thinking of you. Joyce
-
Thanks, Karen. That confirms my decision. Carmen - let your surgeon decide about a fill. He has lots of experience and will guide you.
-
Lori - welcome home. What a wonderful time with DH and DD. Memories. Do you have the Bose noise canceling head phones?? I'm thinking of buying them before Guam trip. Hate that hmmmmmmmmm from the engine sound. My yoga friend loves them.
-
Arlene - Wow - GS did great. Congrats.
-
Cheri - After reading your post, I'm soooo impressed with your self knowledge. Aside from your high intelligence - you key in exactly on your personal issues. Wow - and the ability to express it. I'm way to afraid to see myself that clearly. This is meant as a compliment. Please accept it. I have no answers, just wanted you to know I heard you. Loved having you as one of my room mates.
-
Pat - Sending my love to surround you as you enter this wonderful chapter in your life. A new beginning. Health and self confidence await you. Open your arms and embrace it. Joyce
