Yes, just one and a protein shake. Then you won't feel hunger. Remember why you chose the band. Rewards will be worth it. -

Such a busy thread with interesting lives. I had my second appt with bariatric therapist today. We both feel I'm more than ready for Monday and the band. Was very, very hungry last night, but just ate two sf popsicles and skim milk and went to bed. Feeling very ZEN. Clarity of thoughts and centered. Fasting can do that. Sending hugs to all. Yes, I am a food addict. Began therapy last week to address how I can work with the band and gain control over food in my life. 2nd appt with therapist is tomorrow and surgery on Monday the 22nd of Feb. Good luck to all of us in this battle. May we achieve success. JC in KC

Lauren, Way to go. Keep up the great work. Joyce in KC -
One of my trainers encourage me to speed walk instead. He felt that it was just as good for the body and less damaging to joints. Something to consider.

I'm down 11 lbs. in 10 days. Bet I was eating lots of salt before. lolol Sure makes the pre-op program more palatable. Joyce in KC

Jewel - I, too, am concerned about ceasing your medication without doctor supervision. Some meds must be weaned off. Please see your doctor and discuss this with him/her. Essie - I'm on Day 10 of 14 day pre-op. After careful research, I know this is the right decision for me. And welcome to this wonderful thread of great ladies. Joyce in KC

Best wishes to all being banded today. Can't believe Christopher went shopping on the way home from surgery. WOW. JC in KC

Thank you, Apples, for all the solid advice. I'll need to read it many times in the next few weeks. Phyl - congrats on breaking the plateau. We are the same age and I'll celebrate my 67th b'day as a banded lady. So comforting to have so many who have been thru this journey to offer advice and counsel. Joyce in KC

Wow - I've been reading this thread for 45 minutes. So many ladies to get to know and such varied life issues. Our computer was out from Sunday @ midnight until 3 pm today. Can't live without it. Congratulations to those who had losses and broke plateaus. Interesting to see how the weight loss flows with the band. On Day 9 of 14 of pre-op diet. No problems. Saw my primary care physician yesterday to request liquid Rx meds. No luck - pharmacist recommends crushing & adding to juice or water. Works for me. This thread feels soooooo warm and comfortable. Thanks for including me. Joyce in Kansas City

3 Pm on Day 2 thru 5 PM on Day 3 were the toughest for me. Then, hit the pace and hunger left. Hope that happens for both of you. Cherita, I skipped Valentines Day dinner - just for this year. Next year I'll bring my gorgeous new body to a much lighter dinner. I'm positive it will be well worth the effort for all of us. Be strong - so many others have walked this path - we can too. JC in KC

Day 2 from 6 PM thru 3 pm on Day 3 were the worse for me. It became easier after that - I'm on Day 7 now. Good luck to you. JC in KC

Feeling lost with out food
ladykcusa replied to sharondysart70's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Much congratulations bandpal. Your reply was so well written and heart-felt. Living only to eat - what a horrible life. Time to seize the opportunity to live life fully and with grace. Joyce in KC -
Indio - thanks for your comments. Reading all the pre-op warnings is unsettling. Had a total knee replacement in May 2009 that was a real challenge. Lapband surgeon said this procedure will be NOTHING after what I went thru with the knee. Need to focus on the success. So nice to see your 112 lb loss and hear all the gals successes. The future awaits. BTW - DH has hired nurses for me the first 2 days to make it all easier. My valentine gift.

Patsal - hope each day finds you feeling better too. JC in KC

Hi Kathy, I'm on day 7 of pre-op 14 day diet. Getting nervous and excited. Hope you feel better each day. Joyce in KC

Thank you for the "Welcome". It has been fun reading about the trip. Snow here in K.C. and very cold. On day 7 of pre-op diet and beginning to wonder, "Am I crazy to do this?" Want an extraordinary life - not an ordinary one. Lapband will help me achieve the health and body to reach that goal. Joyce

Feeling lost with out food
ladykcusa replied to sharondysart70's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Anticipating that this will be a problem for me, I've started seeing a therapist who specializes in bariatric counseling. Will work to find tools to help me thru this journey. Best of luck to all of us - we'll share our hints and skills.
