callcrs - congratulations on your loss and working your way past the insurance companies. Joyce in KC

I feel so blessed - with everyone here praying for me. Smooth sailing. Only took pain meds at surgicenter. Nurses I had to two days were NOT needed, at all. I feel marvelous. Anxious to start the journey to health with all my friends here. Ladykcusa JC in KC

Any Kansas City bandsters???????
ladykcusa replied to ladykcusa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone. I'm doing GREAT. Will be nice to meet and talk about the journey. Want to heal a little before I consider a date and place. Will let you all know. -
Was banded on 2-22 and have been busy since then. Have a dog sitter here and DH insisted on nurses for the first 2 days. They were NOT needed. I feel great. Gas can be passed and sleeping well at night. Walking and only took pain meds at the surgicenter. None since I came home. Let the journey begin.

It went very smoothly. Just can't believe how uneventful it was. My husband is amazed. One does of pain meds as I left the surgicenter. Only OTC tylenol (liquid) after that. Slept thru the night. Feel great.

I got home about 4 and the meds made me hyper. Have not rested and nurse from surgicenter said that happens sometimes. Will probably be very tired tomorrow. No pain and very little gas - except when I take a deep breath. Wonder what tomorrow will bring. I'm so happy this day is over and I'm truly a banded girl. Joyce in KC :tongue_smilie:

I will be banded tomorrow @ Malley surgi ceneter. I feel more frequent, smaller support groups might be an advantage. Seeking other near-by bandsters. JC in KC -
Julie - Your pain sounds so much like my DH. He suffered for a couple years and tried everything to avoid back surgery. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore and had it done. It changed his life. He is back to normal and so happy he finally took the step. He slept in a recliner for 6 months - does that help you at all??? Sending prayers. Joyce

Phyll - I love San Diego. Took my GS & GD there for our summer trip last year and stayed on Coronado. Did all the tourist stuff -- zoo and Sea World. Also took them to Hotel Del for dinner. They liked laying by the pool best - teenagers lolol My nail person came to my house today and took off acrylic on one finger of each hand - for sugery tomorrow. So nice of her to come to the house, since we have ice here. She is a sweety. DH is more nervous than I am. He brought me gorgeous flowers and picked up all the Gatorade and Jello I could eat in a year. lolol He needs to feel he is helping. I'm a truly lucky woman. Wait til he sees what this surgery will do for me. Again, thanks to all of you for including me in your gentle, loving group. Joyce in Kansas City

An accomplishment to complete pre-op. Liquids until next Friday. I CAN and will do this and be successful. My health depends on it and a life lays ahead to create wonderful memories. Patience and determination will prevail.:thumbup:

Sandman - hurray for you. Will be wonderful to have your wife support and mentor. Both of you will be ready for a second honeymoon. JC in KC

Linda - Thanks soooo much. Really hungry and a bit intimidated by all the changes ahead. Love the comment, still wondering up to the moment the IV was going in. A feeling that must be shared by many - this is such a big, drastic decision. This phase the doctors seems to focus on all that "could" go wrong. To release them of liability and their responsibility to be SURE we understand what we have agreed to. With all of you here and my support at home, I know this will be a wonderful new chapter in a healthier life. Joyce

Jersey - Thank you so much for your offer. I'll keep you in mind for mentoring as time goes by. JC

Laura, I just noticed you are in Stuart. My DH & I used to spend xmas thru New Years on Hutchinson Island. Loved the town of Stuart. Happy B'day - love seeing your transformation pix. Enjoy your romantic dinner with hubby. Joyce In KC

Cheri, Thanks for sharing your eating experience thru an average day. My banding is Monday and I'm, of course, concerned about how eating will change. Good for you to exercise when weather is soooo gross. Joyce in KC

Cheri - sending prayers for your family. Very sorry to hear of their difficulties.

Laura - What a beautiful bride you are. Such a gorgeous setting for the wedding. A beautiful family and love the departure by boat. Where is the setting?
-
Sharon, I love your comparison of breaking up with a friend who was cruel and NOT your true friend. Very insightful. We will be banded the SAME DAY. Success to both of us and all our new friends here. JC in Kansas City

JB & Linda - thanks for the wonderful words of encouragement. You hit the nail on the head. What am I doing????? Seriously, I've done lots of research and have the GIFT of all of your experiences and I know this is the correct decision for my health & my life. Deep sigh...... Joyce in KC

Linda - Don't know how old you are, BUT the snoring drove my DD & I to separate bedrooms. Sadly, it was MY snoring and my beloved (now deceased) yorkie, Rambo. Even tho we don't sleep together, still madly in love after 35 years. It's an option....... Joyce
