    I'm here to help...

Julie - your new pix is great. Nice to put a face with the posts. Jewell - so sorry to hear your son was ill. You had a very stressful weekend. DD went with me to the movie to see Celine World Tour movie. Only one show per day for two days - so glad I was able to see it. First time to a movie and NO POPCORN. Didn't think I could do it, but I'm too afraid to try. Fear is a great mentor. lolol Still have only tried baby food and yogurt. Taking it very slow. Still enjoying watching the Olympics.

    Hey February 2010 Bandsters!

You are NOT alone. I had those feelings on Day 3. As if AIR was no longer available to me. In a panic mode. I'm still afraid to try eating. Only living on protein shakes and very soft foods - i.e. yogurt. Don't want to feel "stuck" or vomit. When I have those feelings, I look at these forums. So many others have been successful. If they can do it, SO CAN WE. Just have to be patient and go slow. In the meantime, we do have "air" and food to keep us alive. Look at the photos section. See all the success. Hope this helps you. 3. First 3 days were the hardest. I feel this discipline before band was seated, prepared me for the post-op requirements. A drastic change from the "pig out" life I had been leading. New life - new body. More happiness and self-confidence. The world is waiting for us. Joyce in KC

Laura - what a great party. Easy to see everyone had a blast. Sorry about the rude ppl who responded and then no-showed. But they won't ruin the great memories. Joyce

    again the thighs...and lower stomach

you look beautiful and confident - congratulations.
  7. Hi Froggie, I will be 67 next month and was banded on 2-22-2010. You are NOT too old. May 11, 2009 I had a total knee replacement. Must get all this weight off the new knee - and the OLD one. The person who recommended the surgeon to me is a year older than I am and a year post surgery. She is thrilled with her decision, as I'm sure I will be as soon as the adjustment phase is over - i.e. relearning how to eat with the band. JC in KC

    New 60+ Thread

Hi Marjj, We all felt "what did I do to myself" the day after surgery. I'm confident if all the other ladies on this site (& men) can conquer this transition, we CAN TOO. Glad to hear you are doing well. Joyce in Kansas City

    Hey February 2010 Bandsters!

I guess the next few months will be "trial and error" with some success thrown in. At a support meeting, someone said you just have to get to KNOW YOUR BAND. Each of us is different. I'm on Day 5 of Post-op and will start full liquids tomorrow. JC in KC

Great 2BThin - will take me awhile to learn all your "real" names. Thanks for the hint about protein shots @ GNC - I'll be going there today too. My sister leaves on Monday for Telaviv too. She is traveling with a tour group. Have a wonderful trip. Joyce in KC

  19. ladykcusa

    Hey February 2010 Bandsters!

Help - give me an example of protein you are eating. Is it easy for you to swallow? Joyce :mad2:
  20. Yes, they were wonderful. The hunger monster has arrived. Made her presence known yesterday. Hope today it better. How are you doing?

    3 Days Post-Op and I'm Hungry!

Hi Sharon, Loved your idea of tracking calories and fluid intake. The protein shakes relieve the hunger for awhile and that helps. My doctor's office said to expect some gain in this period before we begin to utilitze the band with full food. Yes, the fluids pour right thru and don't allow satiety. Darn. Joyce in KC
  22. Boy this liquid stage is tough. Battling hunger - how about you?
