What a great day. Sun was shining and I had a 90 minute massage. Felt like a noodle when I left and scheduled for every other week next 2 months. Still having some difficulties getting my mind around the changes with the band. Sometimes feel sad that I can't eat pizza, popcorn, etc. Then realize - focus and all the positives - better health, self-confidence. Maybe after the wl begins to show, it will become easier. It's a journey. Fear stops me from trying lots of things - which is good. Actually I'm pretty proud of my food choices. All healthy and moderation - again the fear is my mentor. The therapist explained that I'll have to make mistakes in order to "know my band". I'm not ready for mistakes. lolol

Any Kansas City bandsters???????

Congratulations, Kendra. Glad it went so well for you. Now relax and let the healing begin. Joyce -
Julie - sending good wishes for some answers at the doctor today for you. Laura - Hope that flu leaves you very soon. Great - will be thinking of you tomorrow @ 5 pm - I'm sure the wedding will be beautiful. Jessica - MIL is Unreasonable regarding moving furniture for her on your moving weekend. You are going to be so much better off away from family. And the karate - I would definitely NOT continue. There are reasons when quitting is the right thing to do. That studio sounds very dangerous. If the owners were fair, they would refund the 2 months fees once you quit. Your new furniture sounds wonderful. I can imagine your weight fluctuating with all the stress you have right now. Try to eat well, nourish your body and take one item at a time. Joyce

Any Kansas City bandsters???????

Kendra - the pain meds that I took before leaving the surgicenter made me hyper. I ran circles around the nurse at home until 10:30 pm and felt great. I didn't need the pain meds, nurse just suggested take them to make the ride home more comfortable. You will be just fine. Relax and welcome your band and new friends. We are all here for you. -
Lori (Great) - Marvelous job with the "NO". It is impossible to host all your guests AND the puppy. Other arrangements will have to be made. Boy do I recognize the "eat over my feelings" behavior. Especially when I felt taken advantage of - by not having the guts to say NO. Doesn't happen anymore - at 67 that is one lesson I have down pat. First response to a request for a favor - let me check and I'll let you know. That gives me time to think it over and decide if I want to help ---- or not. And to digest, is it my responsibility to help. I think you are mentally prepared to face whatever comes your way. You go, girlfriend. Joyce

Julie - I'm so happy for you that the MRI will be performed. May this be the beginning of the solution for you and relief from your pain. Met with a KC gal for lunch. She is 67 lbs. down and was kind to share her success with me. Also gave me an inside tip for presale of Lady Gaga tickets in August. I"l take DD with me. A extra bonus of the lap band is meeting some very nice people and making new friends. Sending good vibes to Great for 60 degree wedding weather.

Let us know how the fill goes tomorrow. I agree - crazy weather - love the sunshine today. Enjoy. Joyce -
Julie - Thank you for your response concerning SF and lowfat. I'm still a bit overwhelmed by all the changes. The therapist encouraged lots of support from others who have the band. I'm reaching out to meet individuals here in KC (outside the doctors support group) to meet privately and share the journey. I'm meeting one gal for lunch today. Always seeking a road map thru this new foreign land of health. Apples - hope I don't have a spasm. I might rush to emergency room, not knowing what was happening. Sending positive vibes to Eva from K.C. Joyce

Julie - you mentioned NO sugar free or low fat - does that include pudding? and jello? I've decided no butter substitutes - Joyce
-
NG - you described my situation exactly. It became crystal clear that I was unable to lose weight and keep it off at this point in my life. And my life would be short, if I didn't find an answer. Lapband is a tool - you will have to do the work. But you can see by all the success on these forums, you can succeed. 18 lbs. are gone since I started this process. I feel confident I can regain my life.

Cynthia - Congratulations on being under 200. You are doing so well. Keep up the great work. Joyce
-
Great - sending good vibes from K.C. for the next two weeks. May the wedding be beautiful and may there be wonderful memories created with family and friends. Sincerely, Joyce
-
Deb - You make those Zumba classes sound very interesting. Think I'll look into them at my gym. Julie (Mrs. Bubba) - so very sorry for your intense pain. Certainly hope a physician can find the source and offer some options - this has gone on so long. We had 8" of snow over the weekend and now will return to 60 degree days. Where is spring? I want to walk outside and change clothes in closets, like Apples. Had 2 hb eggs for breakfast. Day one of return to eating. Joyce

Any Kansas City bandsters???????
ladykcusa replied to ladykcusa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm very interested. What day and time and which location? Joyce -
Janet - I decided NOT to tell friends about the band - so I will try foods alone before I try eating in front of others. I'm 6 weeks out now since the pre-op diet began. Still in the learning phase for my healthy new life. Congrats on all the wonderful new clothes. Can hardly wait until I can enjoy shopping again. My day will come.

Kendra - yippee - you will be banded soon. Today was good practice. You will always eat differently than others. I went out to dinner tonight with ppl who do not know I've been banded. No one cares what we eat - they are enjoying their meal. Joyce -

Anyone else use Medicare?
ladykcusa replied to CavyGuy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm also on Medicare - but chose a surgeon who did NOT accept it. So I was self-pay. However, I feel this band will help me return to health and vitality. -
Red - congrats - you are doing so well. With your very positive attitude, success is on the horizon for you. We will all work hard to embrace our dreams. Joyce
-
Laura - So interesting to hear that no one noticed that you didn't eat. You know that has been a concern of mine. With b'day last week, I had several chances to see that no one notices, or cares, when I stop eating and take most of the food home. Also that you refrain from eating in front of others when it might cause Pbing. How many months have you had the band? I learn so much here with all these ladies.
-
Thank you, Apples. Both very good pieces of advice. I'll embrace both. Thank you again.
-
Congrats - you are one your way. Clearly it sounds like you are very ready for this life change. Here's to your success. Joyce in KC
