Phyl - Zoey is a real diva. So easy to see how bonded the two of you are to her already. Little accidents happen, but I'd rather share my home with Gizmo, than have a perfect house. Lori - enjoy that new yard/lawn, as your dogs already are. Glad the fill is working for you and enjoy your smore tonight in the fire pit. Our son & DIL & two grandchildren arrive tomorrow from Guam and will stay for 10 days. Looking forward to their visit. They only come here every 3 years. I'll go there to visit later this year too. Judy - I would also have unfill for last 24 hrs. lolol Joyce

You are on YOUR WAY as your title describes you. ALL OF US felt anxious before surgery. It is a big step and life changing. But, a change to improve your life and health. Now is the time to make a list of all the reasons you decided on lapband. Cross them off the list as they as accomplished. Good luck to you. -
Lori - congrats to a new grandma. I'm so sorry I didn't think of another name for them to call me besides "GRandma".. Nana. anything but Grandma. Laura - on a plane this time next week -- woo hoo I had .4 cc unfill today - so time will tell if that will help me. Had lost another one lb. on their scale. Wonderful. Love how the weight keeps dropping and no regaining like before the band.
-
LauraK - so happy DD has her furniture and all her things. Now she can get settled. I'll see doctor tomorrow morning.
-
Cheri - your post made me chuckle out loud. Driving away with purse on top of car, and yet - I'm an accomplished career woman. lolol No - the students you are learning and fine-tuning this new craft should NOT have the time free. We live in a world that forces us to fine-tune on "company time". We bring a life-time worth of experience to this session. The student/parent is paying for that. Can hardly wait to meet you in LV. Joyce

Congrats Panfisher and Deuces. Evil - I've lost 29 and, like you, fluctuate 2-3 lbs. then lose more. It's so wonderful to NOT regain as we lose, just keep plugging away toward goal. yippee

Well, after talking with my banded friend today, I've decided to call my doctor. I remember Laura going for a unfill and feeling much better after. I've been eating very, very little and throwing up a few times a week. Kept thinking it would go away, but after sharing with friend today, I've decided to call the doctor. Truly, I understand that NOT eating does not make you thin. Eating protein and vegetables and exercising makes you thin. I understood intellectually, but emotionally didn't want to unfill. Arlene - your honesty helped me to "put it out there". Thank you.

Arlene - love your confessions to allow all of us to help monitor and encourage you. You are really serious about reaching your goal. Well done. Janet - glad the EQ didn't harm you and yours. Love hearing what you are eating to lead by example what a bander can tolerate. So excited to meet everyone. Glad I extended from 3 days to 5 in LV.

I've taken that test @ my gym. The headgear for it was $65, but it is yours and can be used again to reduce the cost of the test.

Good luck today, Arlene. Welcome back, Janet - loved the pix and looks like sooooo much fun for all. Julie - very exciting that all records are now in place for Mayo's. You have been patient and time for healing to begin. Lori - a weekend in Paris sounds very romantic and Laura - a vacation there is exciting too. Meeting another bander today to share our journey. Need to get ready to go.

Think Karen will be gone until July 11or 12. Miss her. Welcome back, Janet. Bought DGD a beta for her salon - with the vase that holds Water peace lily on top. To entertain her customers. Had such a great day with her.

KS - Yeah - you did very well. Enjoy daughters b'day tomorrow. -
Wonderful to read all the updates. Sounds like life is back to normal after the holidays. Spent the day with DGD and bought her a beta with water lily for her salon. Also spoke to accountant about her books. Wonderful day together.

No regrets - and your anxiety is normal. Make a list of all the reasons you want to weigh less. Success awaits. Look at the photos on this site. Joyce -
Pam - you are doing great. Making wonderful choices with all the stress in your life. Enjoying GD and taking care of yourself. Rest, relax and enjoy your vacation. Next year will find you in a whole new place in life. Good idea to see your personal physician to assess. You are facing so many changes right now. Janet - welcome back - enjoyed pix on FB pg your weekend with Lucky 7's. What a beautiful setting for the get-to-gather.

Did anyone cry the first week??
ladykcusa replied to robinbare's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
kcarny - make a list of all the reasons you chose surgery - mine included eating myself to death, NO self confidence, shame, guilt, lack of energy, hating shopping, poor health, knee/joint pain, you add the rest. This surgery is a drastic change in life. However, a new life awaits me. Shame & guilt are no longer my sisters. Some days are very challenging. Everything I've lived for 67 years eating this way and now I have to change everything. Is it worth it? Definitely. I'm 4 months banded and each day is easier. Welcome to your new life. Joyce -

Good luck tomorrow and think positive. For me, the surgery was simple, like have my teeth cleaned. No problem. No shoulder pain, and I slept in bed from the first night. (Just not on my tummy) Can't wait til you are a banded lady. -
DD also mentioned how beautiful Macy's display was after watching on TV. Sorry I missed it. Melissa - We all care about you and my DD is also trapped in a job she hates. This economic time is hurting sooooo many ppl. Loved the advice to leave it @ work and come home to recharge and renew. Can you find a hobby to have something to look forward to? The old stand-by (exercise) will also help to release stress and support your wl. Annybear - you are starting a new life and an exciting journey to health. So much great info here to help you along the way. Going to a movie today "Get me to the Greek" with DD. Hear it is funny. Cool and rainy here today.
-
1 day - sorry life is tough right now. All of us are here to support and encourage. Feels so much harder to do this alone - and you are NOT alone. Make small changes for the better and don't try for perfection. Just better choices. I changed my LV reservations today and will be there Thurs. thru Monday. Also changed the hotel and dog sitter - so I'm all set. Fireworks to begin at 9:30 and it just started raining. Dang. Eva - love to hear how GREEN you are. Good job. Joyce
-
Arlene - sending good thoughts for your son as he begins Quick Weight Loss program. I'm hoping the band will do it for me. It requires such permanent changes, hard to believe the weight can come back, but I know it can. Lori - wonderful weather to work on yard project. Interesting that Utah displays fireworks on the 3rd of July. Very cloudy here today. 90% chance of showers tonight, so I bet our fireworks will be canceled.
-
Lori - good to hear your dog is adjusting to new home. Sounds like DH is really dedicated to getting that lawn in. Please send some pix when complete. Ronda - welcome. Lots of help and support here as your begin your journey to health. Laura - a date was just what you were craving. Perfect sitter for Nels. Your cookout tomorrow will be a blessing for the family who have suffered so much stress. Hello to Arlene and Eva & junibug. Finished my book today with dog sleeping on my lap. A perfect, quiet, restful day. Tonight out to dinner with DH and friends. Very nice atmosphere, but didn't care for the menu. Perfect 80 degree weather to enjoy a nice long walk with Gizmo tonight. Happy 4th of July to everyone. Joyce

Reading a book I can hardly put down. Some Girls - sub title My life in a Harem. Fascinating to read how ppl can trash their lives. A true story featured on the TV show The View. Psychology or Psychiatry should have been my career path - or Law.
