Body image is a journey, too. We need to see ourselves differently. Wonderful to feel healthier and have more energy. Wonderful to wear smaller clothes and NOT regain, each time we lose.

Safe and happy travels, Phyl. Karen - congratulations on bandiversary and happy b'day. Joyce

Hi Sparkle - welcome to the group. Be patient as you learn this new way of life and eating. Lots of success here. Joyce -
Laura - loved the family pix. That empty bedroom and chair by the pool sound very inviting. We might all join you there. Phyl - thank you for staying in touch for me while my technical difficulties were a problem. First printer went out, then router had to be replaced. New printer didn't work and a second new printer was installed. Yet another house call was necessary to make router work with our home network. Not all working when I left for Florida. But all fixed now. Still need to catch up on posts while I was gone. Taking 23 yr. old granddaughter to see Lady Gaga in concert tonight. Don't care for crowds that large - but like her talent and costumes. The unfill was the right choice for me. Now I'm able to eat 3 oz. of protein and have not thrown up since the unfill.

Hi Ladies, I only read this last page and looks like there is a great deal going on and much to catch up. I had a marvelous time in Sanibel with my 23 & 17 yr. old grandchildren. Tanned and relaxed and back in K.C. Saw a # on the scale I've not seen in 15 years. Yippee. Was concerned about finding food to eat while traveling and that went very well. I've posted some vacation pix on FB. Glad to be back here among friends. Joyce

Hi Sara - sorry to hear your WL is going so slowly. Mine is also slow, but I'm excited to have 31 lbs. off and staying off. It's getting easier to follow the plan and life style. Stay in touch.

Karen - I can really understand your feelings right now about your son. Our son & family left today after a 10 day visit. As I've mentioned, they live in Guam and visit here every 3 years. Children are 6 & 13 and can't believe they will be 9 and 16 next time they visit. Fortunately, I"ll go there in November and see them again - but DH refuses to fly anymore - let alone 1/2 way around the world. We had a marvelous, eventful, love-filled visit with them. Laura - Happy Anniversary and thanks for sharing your experiences with us including pix. I'm way behind on reading posts with family here. Hi to all.

Braved going to the pool at my gym today. Lots of your "hard bodies", but I went anyway. Tried on 3 bathing suites before I left and settled on the baggy one. However, I'm proud that I went and enjoyed the cool water, music and began a great book.
-
Pam - what is the name of the product like crystal light and where can I order it? Might be just what I need when I travel - and at home.
-
Judy - thanks for sharing your feelings after the pool "friend" attacked you. I'm also dealing with an similar issue, but it is my daughter. I'm sure your situation involved jealousy and envy of your success. So happy OA is giving you the tools to be firm and take care of yourself.

Glad to hear you are both doing so well. Great info on the vitamins from oldone. Took my walk after 9 pm last night and still felt like I was walking in an oven. KC heat and humidity is here again. -
Janet - congratulations. You lead by example and share the tools for success with all of us. You welcome each of us to join you in the life we dream to live. Thank you.
-
Linda & Laura - sending my wishes for great travels and wonderful memories. Janet - what a darling yorkie. Enjoy. Having some drama with one of my daughters - I will NOT eat over it.
-
Eva - my mind is focused on your comment - "have not yet conquered my demons - not even caged, yet". Applying this comment to my own life, of course. Wow - I'll examine that concept. Such wisdom from all of the ladies here. All tools in making a more beautiful life, as well as, creating steps toward our successful journey to wl and health. Joyce
-
Anny - You are doing very well. Keep joining us here for support. Joyce
-
Phyl - I'm with you - just caught up on 4 pages of thread, then can't remember to comment on all. Janet - sorry about Ryder - but support your decision. Also loved the "system" approach to our wl. Linda and Lori - really enjoyed reading about the "women who have it all" - then discover, we would NOT change places. Think I'll keep my grass too. Very, very sad to hear about the gal who can't "put it behind" herself. Life is pretty dull when you only look in the rear view mirror. So much joy awaits us ahead. Cheri - so sorry about your parents problems. It awaits us all. My DH's ex was admitted to assisted living last week. Tough on our children to see her decline with dementia. Lori - My bracelet has bright blue beads hanging like charms mixed with gold (tones) and is inscribed with lapband 2-22-2010, Dr. Malley - doctor's phone number - my husbands full name and phone number. Phyl - wow I'm impressed with your very high tech medical alert holding all your medical info. Bring it to LV - I'd like to see it. Laura - have a blast in Paris. Hugs to all my other gfs here. I'm busy with our family from Guam.
-
lol regarding the 20 year olds and their impatience. Our years give us a better perspective. You are both doing a wonderful job. Phyll - 125 lbs. wow eee wow And kll724 - size 10 dresses - in my dreams. Enjoy your success after hard work. Marvelous. Joyce
-
Lori - thank you for the link to Lauren's Hope medical ID bracelets. I really don't feel comfortable traveling with grandchildren and many times internationally alone - without that medical info available. The selection is marvelous and items are very attractive. Now I just need to hope it arrives before I leave on the 26th. Thanks again. Medical ID Bracelets, Medical Alert Jewelry, Medical Alert Bracelets

Easy to see I'm catching up on reading the thread. Such interesting lives and beautiful hearts here. Phyll - Zoey is such a darling. Love hearing how she has adapted to your life with DH. And so funny he didn't want a dog, now he is hooked. LauraK - nice to hear the apology from former BF. His health issues and past behavior would put the caution flag out for me. Karen - what a blessing to have both sons at home for a couple weeks. I'm always so pleased when the adult children seek my safe environment and allow my love to surround them while they reboot their lives. I'm have the ability to listen and NOT offer advice unless asked for. My husband interrupts their thoughts and demands his solutions be accepted. Needless to say, they prefer talking to me. Laura - another interesting camp for Nels. What a lucky little boy he is. We hosted a doggie b'day party last night to celebrate Gizmo's 2nd b'day. 5 little girls under 7 yrs. with cake and gifts. My DD brought her 6 month old yorkie puppy too. Our son with his family from Guam are still here for 10 days, so I'm very busy. Like Karen, I enjoy having them visit. Lori - (and Arlene) the testing offered great information about metabolism for each of you. And, I agree, a lifetime of dieting has made this road more difficult for all of us. Oh yes, so many of you are cold all the time. I still have several layers of fat and I'm still hot all the time. That will change, I'm confident. Well, time to get busy (showered). DGD is coming over for help with her bookkeeping for her salon and then movie tonight with family from Guam. Seeing the Incredible movie at Forks & Screens - so will have dinner at the movie. Hugs to all. Joyce

On luggage subject - I made the mistake of buying a gorgeous Brighton carry-on bag. Even then, it's too nice to use. Can't stuff it in the overhead - so now I only use it for car trips - which I seldom (never) take. lolol But it sure looks pretty sitting in the basement.

Sending hugs, Tiger. You will be fine. Check in with us. -
Arlene - Son and family in Guam - not in military. He is entertainment and activities director for Pacific Island Club - a resort. He has worked at their properties in Saipan and Phuket. Also worked @ Grand Wailiea (sp?) in Hawaii. Don't feel any different from unfill - but have not yet tried to eat 3 oz of meat. Taking family to dinner tonight, so I'll see how it goes.

Does anyone wear a medical ID bracelet for your lapband? If so, where did you find it. When I travel, I'd like to wear one in case of emergency. Joyce

What in the world, happened! ??

Cold fluid while eating tightens the band. I don't drink anything during a meal. Nothing until one hour AFTER the meal. My surgery was 4 months ago and I don't anything doughy things like the soft taco. Crispy would be OK. No toast or bread either. PB at least once a week, even when I'm careful. But I've learned, when I'm full - stop eating or I will pay for it. -
