I am thankful for a successful marriage and all the blessings that God has given me.
-
Have not yet read all posts to catch up, BUT wanted to let you know I've been gone while my files are converted from PC to MAC computer. In transition, so I'll be here/then gone as I navigate the learning curse. Joyce

Laura - loved the description of all the service/repair men at your house. And the story about Dom DeLuise having pizza delivered to the wl hospital. What a riot. Julie - so sorry for the ordeal you are going thru with the pain. We are all eager for an answer and solution for you. Surrounding you with love. Hope Melissa is feeling better today.
-
Laura - sending hugs. You have your hands full with all the issues and repairs. Breathe deeply and take some quiet time for yourself. Jessica - Cheri had the perfect solution to beach day with in-laws. Wish I could join you.
-
Two lovely ladies - sure wish I could have joined you for coffee and conversation.
-
Janet - so interesting to hear how each lady sees themselves. I've know many woman who are confident enough that they don't care what they weigh, they are gorgeous and desirable. Will always remember one gal at a makeup counter that absolutely glowed with beauty and confidence. Health is part of our concern - and for those on these boards, we were unable to accept the extra fat as gorgeous. Lori - I love your DD for pointing out others at the pool to help you "see" yourself. Enjoy your time this weekend with DD. Arlene - hope that new baby comes this weekend to relieve you of those other appts and bring sheer joy into your life. LauraK - fun to hear about the new "men" in your life and Jodi's. Nothing like that "new romance" stage.
-
Karen - sending prayers for your friend, Jacqui. Keep us informed.
-
Janet - way to go wearing a tank top. Noticed you mentioned you were at 119 - I weighed that in the 9th grade. Forgot to mention that all my blood work came back in the normal range - which is GREAT for a 67 yr. old. Cholesterol @ 196 - so yippee, under 200. So, for now, my weight and cholesterol are the same. lolol
-
Melissa - hope you feel better soon. Let us know. Cable company replaced the modem and I'm back on line. Yippee. Saw my Dr. and he added .5 to my band. I expressed that it is hard to believe that would make a difference, but he assured me it can. We are both happy with my progress, but I'm beginning to eat a little more and loss has stalled (altho I'm not regaining). His advice was to add very small amount of fill. Trying to catch up on the posts. I'm so far behind.

Saw my GP yesterday - Have a yeast infection and she gave me steriod cream. Also had her do blood work. Everything looks great there. Going to Lap band doc today and need to hit the shower. Later, ladies.

Welcome, Prairie Dawn. Lots of good info on these boards. Take what works for you and ignore the rest. You are doing great. Keep on toward your goal. -
Appt tomorrow afternoon to see my doctor for a fill. And, later, an appt with cable service to replace our modem that was fried in the storm last Friday. Congrats to Karen and Phyl for having a chance to be together.

Keep up the good work. Slow and keeping it off is wonderful. We are no longer gaining and becoming more healthy every day.

Happy B'day to Laura K. Bet she is having a great weekend. Laura - love the pix of Nelson starting school. He looks so handsome and happy. Cheri - I too am jealous of having slacks taken IN. My time will come. Arlene - I spent two hours at the pool today and LOVED it. Summer is coming to an end and I'm so happy to be wearing a smaller size swim suit. Got two new suits with darling pool dresses (just above the knee) for coverups. Actually felt pretty good, even with the "hard bodies" (and young bodies) at my gym. Once that new grandchild is here and you have your daughter settled in, you will enjoy the pool too. We'll talk in LV more. Melissa - looks like this is a door opening and you might find a career you really enjoy. I'll pray for that to happen. Karen - what a thoughtful lady you are to send off a "welcome to school" package for Nels. And - wrapped it with one hand. lolol
-
You are doing so well. And congrats and figuring out the delay in wl. Keep up the great work.

Violent storms in KC - left me with no internet connection and no land phones. AT&T will TRY to fix phones buy next Tuesday and no idea when Time Warner will fix internet. We have an air card to power the computer and my new iPhone has internet, as well. Still have not resolved the fax/printer option since the new printer was installed three weeks ago. grrrrr..... technology See my doctor next Wednesday and ready for a fill and recommit to working toward goal. Yes, I know, you have heard me say that before, but I'm ready. Went to gym today and spent two hours in the pool. It has been so wonderful to have 31 lbs. off, it was difficult to buckle down and "go for" the next 34. It's time - with motivation of seeing all of the girls in LV in 5 weeks. Joyce

Laura K - Have a great weekend - sounds delightful. Lori L - also sending wishes along for a marvelous time in Mauii I'm having much less excitement getting acquainted with my new iphone. Still waiting to have the fax repaired on the new printer. grrrr technology can be a challenge. Jessica - interesting attitude/advice of your physician re: skipping breakfast. Like Janet - I've always read how important it is. oh well...whatever works for you should be the rule for you.

Gwen & Kurby - regarding knowing more about the band, I saw a therapist before my surgery and she recommended a book by Terry Simpson, MD. His practice is in Arizona and he has years of experience with our surgery. The book is: Weight Loss Surgery, A Lighter Look...at a Heavy Subject Any question you might ever have is covered in this book and I use it for reference and reminders, when I stray from plan. I highly recommend it. He also has a website, if you are interested. Karen - adding my hugs to Laura's after your dental appt this week. Good to hear arm/hand are healing and you are on the mend. I'm jealous of your visit with Phyl and DH. Can't wait to meet her and all ladies in LV. Laura - that is one very interesting pipe. I'd love to try it. When I saw it on FB, I wondered what was in it. lolol Getting my new Iphone this afternoon. Wish me luck. Janet - glad the crisis with Andrew is passed. With 7 children, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren - we always have drama in the family. Think I'm kind of numb to it ----- have heard it ALL. Way to go, GF - 2 work outs in a day. You set the bar high for all of us. Sending love to all my friends here. Let's keep on working our plans.
-
Congrats, Northern Mist. You are doing so well. For me, this past 6 months have changed my life too. So wonderful to NOT focus on food. I'm enjoying 31 less lbs. of fat and clothes fitting comfortably. Let's all keep marching toward our goals.
-
Jessica - sorry about your sister's loss, but understand the mixed feelings. You will be an inspiration to her showing that all your career dreams can come true. Keep up the great work. BTW - wonderful, no test first day.
-
Lori - way to go at the gym. You have really stayed with it since you got settled. Great job. Arlene - I agree SIL should take the birth control issue from here. Oh well.... none of the adult kids listen to me anyway. lolol
