I found some recipes on my Lap Band site - basil broth - just put a few fresh leaves of basil or any other fresh spice you might like and add to can of beef or chicken broth - heat - strain the leaves and enjoy. hot and sour broth - 4 c chicken broth, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tbsp chili garlic sauce or paste. combine all ingredients in saucepan on medium heat, bring to a boil, then turn to low and simmer for several minutes. I've been taking them to work for lunch this week.

RECIPE OF THE DAY! FISH CAKES WITH SWEET & SOUR SAUCE
PB78640 commented on Debra G's blog entry in Blog 93702
the recipes sound great - will try some when I get on solid foods - am in my last day of full liquids - was banded 6/29 - start full liquids tomorrow.. thanks -
I have some questions about the full liquid week - can you mix one of the ready made EAS protien drinks with anything like yogurt or extracts or peanut butter? I have only one more day of clear liquids and am looking forward to some variety with the full liquids. Any suggestions? I have lost about 10 lbs. Is that too much too fast?

I was banded on 6/29. Feeling pretty good today. Off pain meds since day 3, trying to stay hydrated. The liquids are getting to be a bit boring. Hopefully, next week with full liquids, things will be tastier. I have enjoyed the Special K protein strawberry and kiwi drink. The hot and sour soup recipe has been great and the basil broth also. I found some sf flavor ice sticks at the store and they are pretty tasty, espeially after the sore throat. sf popsicles have been a life saver too. Made it through Sunday school and lunc after with my protein drink. The achiness in the shoulders and the soreness is dimishing. I got on the scale today and have already lost weight. Need to domy measurements so I can keep track.

banded 5 days, no appetite....
PB78640 replied to bigpops's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 6/29, I have been taking in a lot of fluids, drinking some protein water drinks, popsicles, and jello. I just started feeling a bit hungry today but after a cup of broth or hot and sour soup I feel ok. I am still on clear liquids until Tuesday, very boring diet but doing okay. Has anyone tried any protein powders that taste good? I was drinking EAS low carb shakes before but I will probably need to try a protein powder to makes smoothies and such. Any suggestions? -
6mo supervised weight loss - how much did you lose?

I am going for my 3rd nutrition consult next week, I weighed myself and so far lost 10-12 lbs, but I will know more after Monday -
I had my chemical stress test yesterday. It was not as bad as I anticipated. The only thing I noticed during the test was a funny (indescribable) taste in my mouth and then later a very bad headache. I went home after the test and laid down for a while, fell asleep and when I woke up it was gone. The craziest thing was that after the injection of the chemical and isotope, I needed to wait about an hour, at this point the doctor ordered a FATTY MEAL!. That was a first, so I have fried chcken tenders, french fries, and a brownie. This helps the chemicals to go to you heart and the films are better. PRETTY WILD! Anyway, not a bad experience at all.
