i'm having the same problem. had mine done in michigan in 2010.....last fill 2011. been doing good but picked up about 15 lbs due to some meds and steroids i was on. i'm on the way back down now. i tried to find a dr here in the atlanta area. left messages for 1 and they never called back. finally got in touch with another........nurse said there was a $2500 transfer fee and the dr would review my files and talk with me then to see if he would do anything..........transfer fee?????........what's up with that. not paying that much to see IF he would take my case. so i'm doing it myself......fortunately since i'm off the meds things are getting back to normal good luck in finding you a dr.

i just passed my 1 year bandaversary, down 85 lbs, no fill in the last 3 months and feeling good. about 20 lbs to go to my goal. however in the last month i've developed a weird situation of an itchy stomach. just the soft part, not the ribs or pelvic bone area. It's not just the incision area but the whole stomach. i notice it mostly when i first step into the shower and the hot water hits that area. periodically during the day (not every day but maybe once a week or so) it will just start itching, anyone else had this phenomenon happen to them.

Dr won't fill tight enough...
bgn replied to Sheer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my dr normally does 2cc at a time. the closer i got to restriction, the fills got smaller. as you get closer even .5cc can make a lot of difference and be enough. slow and steady wins the race. -
And while we are in there...
bgn replied to KAS1971's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
mine was fixed at the same time as the banding. pretty normal to do that. -
Big Scale Victory. I'm not one to weigh very often. Normally only when i go in for a fill. My last fill was mid July. Well, I've been visiting my daughter and her family and decided to try her scales this morning. I was afraid I had gained a couple pounds.......but........to my surprise i was down 12.5 lbs from my last fill. needless to say i was so pleasantly surprised. that makes me down 71 lbs since jan/10 and only 20-25 lbs to go. I know they will come off slowly but they will come off. For those of you just starting this journey, keep your chin up and the little we do every day will make a big big difference in the months to come.

Confused and bummed about apnea
bgn replied to Froggie D's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i've had a cpap for 13 years. i have lost a little over 60 lbs. i like my machine and have gotten so used it i would probably use it even if i didn't need it. i can nap without it, no snoring and holding my breath but haven't tried going without it all night. it's become my friend and i love the white noise it makes. -
Are any of you cold a lot??
bgn replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
after surgery i was freezing which was a switch for me cuz i always considered myself hot natured. after 60+ lbs lost i find myself a lot more temperature regulated. i still get chilled at temps that used to be hot and i find i can handle the heat a lot better than before. no idea why, but that's my story. -
how do you know if your too tight?
bgn replied to janaey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
to me it sounds like your band is just a little too tight, or you may be eating too big of bites or not chewing sufficiently. my first impression was being too tight. my last fill was .5cc and made a lot of difference so if you have just a small amount removed i'm thinking it may help. but as always.....talk with your dr. -
i was able to shower 2 days after surgery. dr said just not to let the water flow directly on the incisions and to daub that area dry. also to apply some antibiotic, ie neosporin, to the incisions. worked for me and i had no problems at all.

Can you feel the food pass through ??

To fill or not to fill. That is my question.
bgn replied to prat72's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
like you, i do good from morning until supper time. no problem or hunger during that time. i can eat more than i think i should at supper. i've only had 1 PB episode and 2 stuck episodes so i feel i'm close to being too tight. personally i'd rather try and control it myself than to have another small fill and be too tight. i don't want to get to the place where i'm always stuck and having discomfort. i just want to get as close to that line without going over. my last fill was .5 cc and if i get any more fills, i wouldn't go any more than that again. thats how close i feel i am to proverbial line of going too far. i'm rarely hungry, but i find i have to watch myself from "picking" at stuff that isn't good for me later in the day. my band is doing what it is supposed to do, i just have to keep an eye on my biggest nemesis......ME. keep up the good work. -
i have that size band and i was banded in jan. my dr put in 2 cc's 3 times, then 1cc and 1/2cc the last time. i'm finally starting to get the restriction i want but i'm about ready to get another 1/2cc. once i got close to restriction it amazed me how much difference a 1/2 cc made. in 6 months i've only had 1 episode of pb'ing and sliming. don't want to start doing that either, that's why i'm thinking of holding off on my other 1/2cc fill. i want to get close to the line without going over. my band is different one day to the next. one day i can eat more than others...........so i must be real close to what works best. your band will/may be different from mine as to how many cc's are required for proper restriction. slow and steady wins the race. good luck in your banded journey.

Why do we have different calories
bgn replied to rpm2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
proteins, veggies, portion control, smart eating and nothing about calories (except not to worry about calories) is what my dr. suggests. we're working on a life style for life so i eat kinda what i want just not much of it. i stay satisfied and have very little cravings. banded 1/10, loss of 60 lbs, 30 more to go and my drs. advice seems to work for me. your results may/will vary. good luck on the banded journey, this is a great place for ideas and encouragement......visit often.
