I had mine done 24 nov 2018 and my results have been slow pre surgery 207 surgery weight was 199 now I am 165 have been trying to lose the last 10 pounds for a month , but considering it has only been 5 months and I only have 10 lbs to go I would do it again

Hello, keep it up slow and steady wins the race. I am a slow loser also . I will be 3 months out next week and I am about 27 pounds some time I get frustrated not losing faster but I know it is not a race. I started at a lower bmi also. I reed it is the slower when you start with a low bmi and I find that to be true.

I was sleeved 29 mov it doesn't seem like I was sled I feel I am eating to much have only lost 9 lbs but my starting weight was low this week has to be better have been on a stall since week 1. Any suggestions

I had my surgery on the 29 November my scale hasn't moved since the 6 day where I had lost 8 lbs will see if it has moved today. I also didn't think I would stall so early, but they say it's part of the process, so I'm trying to be patient.

Hello. I had my surgery on the 29 November went home the next evening. Doing really well. I didn't have any gas like I thought I would. I have been able to get down 8 oz. Of protein shakes and the fluid is coming along. I have been doing chicken broth water and popsicles. I have been peeing a lot. But over all I am feeling good. I start mine on the 18th November it suppose to be a 10 day but my surgery is not until the 29 Nov so that is 11 days mine consist of 3 protein drinks and 1 small meal so I guess I am lucky.

Hello I just got approved for VSG my surgery date is 29 November I am taking 2 1/2 weeks off from work . I cant wait for this date . I start my liquid diet on the 18th 2018 and pre op 28 November. I have a $200. out of pocket which is nothing for this surgery. I am so blessed to have this happen for me. I had lap band in 2010 and did really well , but had to have it removed in 2017 because of complications. so I look forward to talking to you on the loser side.

Hello, I am so frustrated I could cry, I have been waiting for a call back from my surgeons office . I had the appointment for the orientation and with the surgeon on 10 Sept. The nurse told me the person who would put in my referrals and who would let me know everything that I need to do has literally ignored my phone calls . I say this because when I called her from another number over a week ago she answered and tried to blow me off, but I kept her on the phone she told me the Dr. hadn't done the note and that she couldn't do what she need to do until she knew what he wanted. I felt like that was a BIG FAT LIE. I knew she was leaving soon , so I called Friday 28 Sept and the voice mail had the new ladies voice so today is Monday called her back and it went to voice mail again. This is so frustrating I don't know if the old person trained the new person not to answer the phone and to just check the messages and call back the patient, but I will see if she calls by the end of the day. But I did call the office manager on my lunch break ande it went to her voice mail , but they did say that she could be at lunch. I will see how long it takes her to call me back. I could be being a LITTLE inpatient . Tell me what do you think or what would you do . This is Basically a rant:(

Very poor customer service, I am not that far out. They are the only one in my area covered by my insurance. I could go 1 hr out but at that facility I have to do 6 classes but at this rate it will be the same time as if I did do 6 classes. I got a call back from the coordinator the one I had the orientation with and she said the new person said the note isn't done mind you almost 1 month. She said she was going to speak with the doctor, says others from my class has been calling her also. I just dont know . But the new person still have not called me back or the office manager. Hello, have anyone had this problem, I am in the beginning process trying to get the sleeve, I had my pcm put a referral in for me and it took the surgeons office a while to get me scheduled for my orientation even though I know they had the referral , I had to call them many times and I would not get a call back then I called the patient coordinator and she spoke with the scheduler and the scheduler told her she would call me within a week and of course she did not , then I call back after a week then I was scheduled for the orientation. Had the orientation and I meet with the surgeon , his Medical Assistant told me that the bariatric nurse would contact me and if I didn't hear from her in a week to give her a call. I didn't wait a week I called her that Friday and left her a message and I called her the next week many many times and she will not pick up her phone or call me back. I said I was going to go up there on my lunch break Friday if I haven't heard back from her. She is the one who puts referrals in for nutrition and psych and lets you know what you need to do next. I am sag net waiting until she tells me something . This is frustrating waiting on people to do there job. This is more like a rant!! But have anyone experienced people who take there time at doing the things that you need done , if so what did you do.

It is such a waiting game I don't understand. I had checked into getting it done in Vegas I thought it was only $6500. that's what they advertised but when I spoke with them I had to have a certain insurance they said they do everything in 5 days nutrition psych cardio everything is in the same building , it seems like they all could be that fast:) When I had the lap band placed in 2010 it didn't take that long to go thru the process. I started in January and I had my surgery in the middle of April . But I will see.

At the time that I got my lap band removed in April 2017 I was not big enough to get the sleeve. I was 160 lbs. But since I have had it removed I am back up to 204 lbs. I am still considered a low BMI. its because I have high BP and sleep apnea is why I qualify, but at this rate waiting on people to do there job is getting to me , but I will try to be patient because there's nothing I can do .

Well guess what I used my coworkers phone and she answered , I knew she knew my number but that is so messed up. When she picked up and I told her who it was she try to say she was in a meeting and had someone in her office, but I would not let her off the phone. She said the doctor hasn't done his note yet so she could not do what she needed to do and sayed she has 300 patients and all where important and she has my chart was in the hot seat. I fill like she is lying because I got a message thru the online portal that my note was ready to view. I am trying to be patient I told her I would call her next week and she said soon as she got the info she needed she would call me. Then she said it could be this week, I know that is not going to happen because it is already Thursday I will give her till next Friday before I call again. This is so frustrating . I don't have to do a 6 month diet plan all I need is to do psych and nutrition . I was thinking I would have the surgery if approved in November but the way things are going I'm not sure .

Hello I was in the same boat as you, but my Pcp tried everything to see if I qualified. I already have hypertension but the surgeon office wants you to have 2 comorbidities. So I had a cholesterol test and a home sleep study done so my cholesterol over all cholesterol was elevated 232 and I have a mild sleep apnea , so I was able to get a visit with the surgeon just waiting for the call this week. So have your Dr. to put a sleep study in for you I didn't think I had it until I started to research it. And low and behold I did. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Hello, I am starting my journey also, My Dr. have submitted my referral to the surgeons office ,, I am just waiting on them to call me for the first appt .with the surgeon. I know I have to have 2 classes , nutrition psychology and one other appt. I am excited I know they have my referral trying to be patient and not call them. Good luck on your journey and its ok to be nervous but in the end you will be happy.

I have kasier my Bmi is 35 and 1 comorbidity waiting for results of sleep apnea test but has anyone with kasier been approved with 1 combiddity. Hoping for a mild apnea as crazy as that may sound then I would be able to qualify with hypertension and sleep apnea.

Hello, Has anyone tried for the sleeve surgery with a BMI of 35 with comorbidities. I had the lapband placed in 2010 and did great , in 2017 started having problems with it and had to have it removed. I tried for a year to keep the weight off , but it has creeped back up . Know I am 35 bmi and tring to get approved thru my insurance. I have High BP and was test recently for sleep apnea. If I have one I would be able to proceed on with this journey , If not I will have to do this journey with out any kind of tool. IT may sound crazy but if I had a mild sleep apnea I would be ok with that , because I figure once I lost weight it would go away . I really need to qualify for this surgery. When I had the lapband I went from 226 start weight , surgery day 216 and final weight was lowest 140 but maintained at 155-158. So now I am 190 and trying for the sleeve , tried when the band was removed but was told my bmi was to low and that only because I had the band as a tool, with out it , it has been a struggle So now I had a sleep study done yesterday, and they say it take 2 - 3 weeks for the results, if it comes back in my favor , I can start the process with the surgeons office once my Dr. sends in the paperwork. But when I look on the web site for my insurance it says you only have to have 1 comorbidity, when I call the insurance they can't give me an answer , so I mad an appointment by phone with one of the Bariatric Dr. with my insurance to find out, they are up in Denver so if he says one then I will get my doc to submit to them and I would go to Denver , But the surgeon in the Springs says 2 comorbidity I think they try to play it safe by saying 2 comorbidity but we will see. So is there anyone else out there in this situation??

That's what my insurance says online but the contracted surgeons office says 2. I have an phone appointment with a Kaiser Dr. To find out because when I call Kaiser representative they dont know the answer. I have high BP on medication
