About Me
Hello,
My name is Bunny , I started this journey in April of 2010 that is when I had my lapband surgery. I did really well on it. I started out at day of surgery 219 pounds and I got down to as low as 140 but I maintained at 155-158 . then in 2017 i stared having problems and my doctor sent me to get a
x-ray of my esophagus it was dilated so my doctor told me that my lapband may have to come out, he took out all the fluid then i came back and got it x-rayed again and it still was dilated so i had to have it removed , it was removed on April 2017 . i wanted to get the sleeve but my BMI was to low at the time, and the only reason it was low was because of the lapband. That was such a big blow to me because i didn't know if i could keep the weight of and i had come so far. I tried really hard to keep it of i did gain some back slowly but then after about 1 year i started packing on the pounds. I just got so tired of really trying to diet i was going to the gym 3-4 times a week and walking every day at lunch time and i just couldn't seem to lose any weight and keep it off . I probably lost the same 12 pounds 4 times. I got a new PCM and i told her of my struggles and she asked me about trying to have another weight loss surgery. i thought about it and then she put a referral in for me the surgeons office that did my lapband . They came back and sayed that my BMI was to low and i only had one comorbidity and that my insurance required 35 BMI with 2 comorbidity or 40 BMI. So i was close to the bmi. I went on vacation and really didn't watch what i was eating ,came back and went to my PCM and of course i gained weight. So she put me in to have a sleep study done to see if i have sleep apnea which is a comorbidity and she put in lab work so my lab work came back my cholesterol was 232 but my good cholesterol was in range and bad was in the right range , So today i have a in home sleep study may sound crazy but i hope maybe I have mild sleep apnea, and i know when i lose some weight that will go away. If it comes back with an Apnea my PCM is going to submit the referral again to the surgeons office. Then i will be able to start the process when i have completed everything then the surgeons office would submit to my insurance for approval. I pray that everything goes in my favor and i am able to get the VSG Sleeve. But i know one thing it has been hard carrying around this weight , i have not been trying to lose just waiting to see what happens with the Apnea. If i don't then i am really going to have to get on the stick and get this weight off. I know it will be hard but i would have to do it and i would have to stay on a diet all my life , but some say a health eating habit. so enough of me rambling . This is me:)
