I'm in on the Christmas Challenge!! What day are we officially starting?
-
Momotrips, it sounds like you and your hubby had a great time!! I wanted to do something my hubby and I for our birthdays Nov 19 and 21....that sounds like a good idea. I don't know what is up with this heartburn, i thought maybe it was overeating, but i have it about an hour or so after i eat no matter how much or little i consume. Guess i will just chew the TUMS until my Dr. appt on the 22nd.
-
Is anyone else getting heartburn?
-
Well I need a fill, no doubt about it. I ate three small slices of pizza last night and i had no restriction at all. I have to call the dr this week to see what he says. All i know is i have gained 2lbs back...aarrrghh.
-
I'm not going to lie to anyone, halfway through my second week, i started eating reg food. I have had no problems what so ever. I just make sure i chew everything up real good till it is mushy in my mouth. I am 20 days post op and doing great, so far i have lost 16lbs. I can tell that i am going to need a fill. Somedays i can eat more than others. I go back to the Dr. on Nov 22 for my first fill i hope. I am going to try to go the week before, because i need to know my limit on food intake for Thanksgiving.

Hello everyone, just wanted to let everyone know that I am doing fine and the infection is going away.. Thank you antibiotics...lol Feeling great!!WoooHoooo

Bad news guys, i have developed an infection around three of my incision sites....good news the other four are okay....lol. Had some nasty oozing around my port site today after my Dr. visit. He put me on Cipro and Bactrim. It's probably staph, but it happens. Going to be taking antibiotics for the next 10 days, other then that i feel great. I have lost 14lbs so far and i can tell the difference in my waist for sure... I'm in good spirits and I will get thru this. Congrats to all who have and are being banded this week, welcome to the club!!!!

I found this really cool website that tells you in technical terms and pics of how the lapband is inserted. http://www.obesitylapbandsurgery.com/tectec.html

Momotrips, those two incisions were my worst also. None of the other ones really bothered me too much. As for the gas, didn't have any of that either!! I have had it with past surgeries, but not with this one. I guess Dr. Naaman sucked it all out....hehehe.
-
Okay I have had my moment, I have been staring at my pantry and fridge all night thinking about all the yummy things i could eat....urgh. stop the madness!!! Its all head hunger, cause i am still full from the yogurt I ate 4hrs ago.....lol. Food Bad, Food Not My Friend.....

macdeb59, moon goddess, three beauties, Denise2, kennedy mdk63, Ward1990, Momotrips Good luck you guys, surgery will be great and yall will do fine!! Welcome to the road of single digit sizes....lol

i was told to shower twice a day and remove the steri strips 48hours after surgery. You want to keep the incision sites clean and dry. You can go to the drug store and buy Betadine solution to clean the incision sites in the shower(make sure you are not allergic to iodine) pat them dry and go. if you are still having some oozing, you may want to cover them up with some gauze and medical tape. Go to the drug store, they have an entire section for wound care!!! happy shopping

Good Luck to everyone today!!!

bckeye i really don't know which code i used to make my ticker appear, i got that error a few times, i just played with it untill i got it right. sorry i couldn't help.
-
yes, my port incision is more tender then the rest, and it is also the largest. I am still having the most pain at the port site. Hopefully it will get better, i am only 4days out of surgery and every day i am feeling better.
-
Bckeye01, i understand, the food looks great and i do want to take a bite, but i keep reminding myself that this liquid phase is not permanent. In a couple of weeks you will be able to take that bite and who knows you might not like pizza anymore, it might not settle with your stomach. Don't cry!! Change is hard, but we must be strong. The benefits out way the food.

Okay so surgery was Friday and I am down 10bs...wooohooo. okay so after surgery i went up like 4lbs because of all the fluids they gave me and the excess gas. But overall i am down 6lbs from the morning of surgery, i weighed myself before i went to the hosp in my birthday suit. Who would have thought that a liquid diet and vicodin could make such a great diet...lol. Tonight was the first test of many, I had a sit down dinner :hungry: with my whole family, they had fried lobster, onion rings and broccoli covered in cream sauce...and baked potatoes, and I, well mom made me some potato soup. I really was not that hungry. I thought i would be more tempted to eat but to my surprise i was not. "Way to go me!":clap2: Pain is going pretty good, drove some today. I think i moved around more than i should have, cause i am pretty sore tonight. Anyway, good luck to everyone having surgery this week GOD BLESS YA

yes, momotrips, we will have to get together and stare at lunch.....lol. i live out in cypress, but i don't mind the drive

Momotrips, my experience was wonderful. Dr. Naaman could not have nicer people if he asked for them. Surgery was scheduled for 10:30am i think we were just a few mins late starting. I woke up in recovery in a little bit of pain, but they fixed that right away. They moved me to the 5th floor in a private room, very nice and clean. I got up to the room about 12:30 or so. At about 3pm they came with a wheelchair to take me to radiolology to swallow the dye and take pics.(Dye is not the greatest tasting stuff around) The radiologist read them right away and i was cleared to begin to drink fluids...yippee, i was very thirsty. They took me back up to the room and showered me with water and Gatorade. I asked for more pain meds about 4pm and got them right away. They kept saying i would get to leave in about an hour or so. I was feeling good i went to sleep. About 5:30 dinner arrived, beef broth and tea.....lol. My husband went down to the cafe and had dinner where he ran into Dr. Naaman. He told my husband that i would get to leave within the next hour. So i guess it was about 7pm when i finally left the hosp. I was there a lot longer than i expected, but it was worth it for the pain meds....lol. All in all a good experience.
-
okay sleeping was not so great, i couldn't get comfortable. my left side upper incision hurt worst of all. i think this is where the port is, so i couldn't lay on my left side. what are you guys using the heating pad for? should i put it across my tummy?
-
All is well, i am now part of bandland....lol. just got home, going to take drugs and sleep. talk to you guys soon. everything went well.
-
okay the time has arrived for me to leave for the hospital. Surgery at 10:30am. I am so excited. I slept better then i thought i would last night. Hope all is well with everyone! I will talk to yall when i get home. BANDLAND HERE I COME!!!:clap2:
