Help me get rid of my belly pouch/flap!
StevieVieth replied to StevieVieth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for all of the replies and answers. I know it will take a long time to get rid of. I just hope that it is not permenant. I was heavy when I was younger but then I was at a healthy BMI and I only weighed 120 lbs. Unfortunately that was still heavy for my height. I have never really been at a normal weight for my height. I also did the unhealthy eating disorder way of losing weight when I was still in my teens. This is Karma's way of getting back at me. I gained 80 lbs during my pregnancy, even tho I worked all day on my feel moving around, and ate right. My son will be 2 on the 23rd of this month so it will be my 2 years being heavy.. bouncing weight from 209-180 and back. My highest weight is 209 one week before surgery, then 200 day of and 194 on my week post op. I go in for a fill next wednesday! -

Spring into March 2010 Bandsters
StevieVieth replied to NYSparklegirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I decided to stop back here. I feel sometimes as if our little gourp has drifted apart because we all have our bands now as it is April. BTW Happy Easter to everyone who follows the holiday. And Hope you had a great Passover Jodi! I still have not seen my numbers, but a friend of mine gave me a pair of new jeans that didnt fit her because my jeans are a size 15 and fall off!! The jeans she gave me were the brand Sevens, and are a size 12!!! I couldnt believe it I have not been in a size smaller then a 15 in 2 years! Im working on some of my smaller capri's for the summer. This year I do not want to be wearing goucho's nd my ugly old lady FAT clothes. I go to the Dr for my first fill 4/14 I hope that all goes well. I havent been having much restriction, but I have been eating small portions. :smile2: -
Has anyone taken Alli or Phentramine after being banded?
StevieVieth replied to StevieVieth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree. I know alli sometimes makes sense but not really its a fat blocker but if you are eating stuff that doesnt contain a lot of fat then you shouldnt have to take it... I had another friend that thought just eating like she normally does and taking Alli would make her lose weight. But then she complained she was on the toilet all day everday.. and I told her that was because she was eating high fatt foods like french fries and cheese steaks what did she expect was gonna happen.. Now I have never used phentramine or Alli but I about 5 years ago I found myself into the weight loss supplement fad... Of course I would use stackers and not eat I lost 100+ lbs but of course when I got pregnant I gained it back. Since I have been banded I eat 2 small meals lunch and dinner, and in the morning I drink a no sugar added carnation instant Breakfast. I am onlt one month out so I am doing either 30 high intense cardo workout called cardioke... or I do Leslie sansones heart healthy 2 mile brisk walk.:bored: -

Haha I know to forget the drugs.. I have never taken them before or after being banded.. Didnt you read my second post?? I am worried a friend may be abusing them while being banded. And I prefer not to buy a scale... I dont want to jump on it everyday.:bored: -

StevieVieth replied to StevieVieth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wasnt talking about me. I have no interest in taking over the counter or even prescription drugs. I was wondering if was safe for my friend.. Se before the band she had to do the 7 month diet and she didnt eat right or exercise... SHe actually gained 20 lbs so she would qualify to be banded by our insurance. And she is rather lazy if you dont mind me saying so. I am not here to bash her ways but I wanted to know if these drugs we safe for her to be taking them.. SHe thought that with the band she was gonna drop 50 lbs in the first month without diet and exercise... Its really sad tho, because here I am busting my hum working out and eating right.. And she keeps asking me how am I doing it and she isnt ... -

Spring into March 2010 Bandsters
StevieVieth replied to NYSparklegirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, moving is better. I actually get my first fill April 14th due to the Doc being away this and next week because of Easter coming up this weekend. I have noticed clothing becoming not tight anymore. I wore pants and shirts that I would steer clear of because they were tight. My husband commented that he was proud of me for working out 5 or 6 days a week, and eating right. He also pointed out that he could see my weightloss. But because we do not have a scale at home, I do not know my weightloss by number, only by how clothes are fitting me now.:frown: -

I do go to the support groups, however I didnt go to the March one I will be there the April group. Thats cool that you were banded by him as well. Do you live in Atlantic county? I live like 5 minutes from the life center. -

Spring into March 2010 Bandsters
StevieVieth replied to NYSparklegirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Stevie... thats exactly why I wont have one here....I know ill be on it night and day!! I actually went to my primary doctors this past week ...as he wanted to see how I was doing..so he weighed me and I lost another 4 pds or so....yea...he was so excited I lost 20pds since March 9th he hugged me...a little inapropriate but I suppose he feels responsible as he was the one who pushed me to have the surgery in the first place...lol But he also agreed not to have the scale until I hit goal. I am however starting to feel like I lost weight. I actually fit into some clothes that my mother bought for me in size 18 and before surgert they did not fit...and now not even a month later they fit!!!! Yea. Hoping next month Ill go down to a 14 and then I can start getting rid of my big clothes!! cant wait for that. Hope your feeling good! Finding me; Yea you did it!!! I hope you are feeling good. I know the first three days are the hardest but you will start to feel better soon.....I began driving and shopping on day three. Day two not...so good..but day three and on I was okay so you should be able to go...esp when you will be sitting. just take water with and sip sip sip. Liftingchic; I hope you are feeling okay..I know the doctors did say if you develop a fever to call ASAP as maybe this could be you have an infection...I hope all is well and you did call. Im worried for you now....Please post and let us know your okay.... I didnt go back to work for a week and half. I really could have after a week but I just started to feel better on Sunday which was just 6 days after surgery...If I pushed it I could have but decided to wait another 2 days and ended going back on Thursday a week and two days after surgery. The extra two days...I kind of just shopped and got my house back on order. Im glad I waited....I felt really good when I went back later like I never had surgery by that time. Please let us know how you are....will be thinking about you and hoping everything is okay!!! You just joined!! What a great idea about going into the chat room at the same time each week to get a support group going. I think this would be as you said a great time to ask all those questions we all have and forget to post ask or dont get responses fast enough lol. I would love to come in and chat,,,,the only thing is is 6PM is really early as I am a single parent and that is a really hard time, Im on the East coast and that would make it afternoon for the west coast. Is it possible to make it later so that all the people who have kids can sit and chat maybe after the kids are closer to going to sleep or after dinner for the east coasters?? Ill take any time of course that the consensus chooses but my choice is for as late as possible. 8 and later...for me...what do you think?? Not sure about how to make your own chat room on this thread...but maybe someone will know. perhaps we can make a pole about the timing to go into the chat room on site. Dont know how to do that lol but if someone does...I know Bob he made a pole before so maybe he can help here.... Let me know,,,again great idea. I love it. and welcome to the thread!! Hope you are feeling well. Keep us posted. Well...must run Have a great night all...feel good. Jodi Thats awesome Jodi, I am still unaware of any of my weight loss since the 16 lbs. I find myself wondering but I cant bring myself to buy a scale. I will eventually, lastnight my husband commented on how he can see I am losing weight and pointed out the areas I need to work out on. I work out 30 to 45 mins a day in the morning and if I feel up to it I do it in the evening as well. My hubby is working on toning some muscles so he sometimes works out with me. i can see where in some of my clothes that I wouldnt wear pre op because they were too tight, but now I am. I am going to look into finding some cuter clothing at the thrift shops so I dont spend too much money because i the next yr I will need a whole new wardrobe. But everyone has to remember the first 4 to 6 weeks is for healing so dont get to discouraged. I broke the other day and was really discouraged but I am only 4 weeks post op today! and I dont have a scale to watch my weight loss. and I posted a thing in the forum and everyone is talking and helping me. SO if you think this forum isnt helping you should try because this and the support groups really do work.:frown: -
March Bandster Updates
StevieVieth replied to Savanna's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This exploding feeling did not leave me until I was able to fart (Dont mind me, I try to be lady like) And I wasnt able to for about a week post op. The terrible gas pains lasted atleadt 6 days post op. But once you get past it youll feel great@@@!!! I promise:thumbup: -
I think im getting a little discouraged..
StevieVieth posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I was banded 3/2/10 and on my one week post op I lost 16 lbs.. I do not own a scale and my next Dr appt is on 4/14 so I will not know my progress till then. So items of clothing are becoming loose but I dont feel like Im making too much progress. I know I am not a bunch out but I feel I could be doing better. This being overweight is killing me, my son is gonna be 2 in April and just right before I had him I was only 120 lbs (here are some old pictures of me in my profile) I just want to get back there and fit into my older clothes, when I was only 1 week post op I was down to 194 and I was so happy to be under 200lbs I just dont know what had happened to me. I feel gross and ugly and FAT especially. I dont like the clothes that I fit into I dont like a lot of things about myself. I was on anti-depressants and just this past wednesday the doctor decided to not continue these meds. He feels as I continue to lose weight and everything my depression will lighten and finally go away. I keep thinking to myself... what if that doesnt happen? I dont want to wait until next summer to hopefully have lost a good amount of weight to look decent in any clothing. I just dont know. =(
