Hi all! Being banded on the 19th! My preop is 3 Sugar free carnation instant breakfasts a day, 2 cups of veggies and 2 low fat up to 350 calories frozen dinners such as lean cuisine or Smart ones. And of course a river of water! I can say that sounds much better than what I have heard some of you have had to do, all liquid etc. I can't say though that I have followed it well. :hungry: At first did fine and then I think because I was getting anxious over the surgery went a little nuts. I can't stay away from potato chips! My biggest down fall. I've done better today and went shopping at lunch time and stocked up some things to have on hand at work when I get back. Take care all, I enjoy reading the posts and hope that I can help someone after I get banded. macdeb:)

Hey Jen, I do water aerobics and I love it. It does not hurt my joints (have 2 kinds of arthritis) and it has certainly helped in keeping weight down. I feel like I have more energy and much better flexibility. I started slow with an arthritis class and then when I felt I could do more went to the regular water aerobics class. I hope you try it and like it, it has been the one exercise that I have stuck to and I actually like it. We have a blast in class! Take care, macdeb59 to be banded 10/19 -
October bandsters have started on their journey, hip hip horray! I had my pre-op meeting with the doc, will have my testing tomorrow. I have to have an upper GI and lab work and then teaching for afterwards. My pre op diet is 3 carnation instant breakfasts a day, two low cal dinners like lean cuisine and then all the water you are supposed to have. I can have low fat cheese in between if I get hungry, IF I GET HUNGRY, OH YES, I IMAGINE I WILL BE HUNGRY! The way it looks I will not get my first fill until the first week of December or so. My journey with this has been pretty short, went to the seminar in mid August, got all my pre stuff done, then submitted to insurance and approved last month. I'm glad it has been quick though, not as much time to have all those last meals LOL!! Take care everyone, and hold on because we have started on our way!

Unfortunately you know the federal system!:faint: I have federal APWU for my secondary and have not heard anything, so I am hoping to hear, otherwise I have to pay my $250 deductible at the time of surgery. Who is your surgeon? I have my physical on the 2nd with Dr. Teel and then my preop and teaching is on the third. I get banded on the 19th. Keep us informed of your progress in the insurance dept! Good Luck!
