Hi, my name is Kimberly. I'm a Las Vegas native with a zest for life. I'm having lapband surgery on 1-22-10 and couldn't be happier! Most of my life has been a "quest for skinny" - in late 2008 i went to a lap band seminar, but decided i wanted to really try to lose weight on my own.  It took me about 8 months and i had lost 50lbs, i ate very healthy and worked out very hard, and still do. I was so proud of myself. But in May of 2009 tragedy struck my family - my father who was only 45 at the time died. He wasn't really overweight, but he did have high cholesterol and high blood pressure. It was at that point that I knew I couldn't just mess around anymore with my weight. I decided to once again look into having lapband surgery. In early January 2010 I went to another lap band seminar and decided that this time - THIS WAS IT. So on the 22nd of this month I'll be banded. I'm so happy because this is something that is going to affect the rest of my life, and I couldn't be more proud of my decision.
