Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Jeaniejinx replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi to all, Lovely to see Freckles back on the forum, hope you are well. xx Had my stitch out on Friday, it virtually popped out by it's self. The nurse just trimmed some of the edges of the dissolvables ones and the longest one just popped out on it's own the other night. Had heartburn today after eating some scrambled egg on melba toast (the round ones) I was sick not long afterwards. The heartburn stopped after this, thank god. I'm not sure wether it was because I ate to fast or wether I hadn't chewed it small enough. Know now what people mean about learning what to eat and what not to eat. Get fed up with liquids all the time, need to chew something. Haven't lost anything since last Tuesday. Disappointed, but that's me down to a tea, want everything to happen over night. I'm following a weight watchers point system, to check I'm not eating to much. Have decided to have my fill on the 8th of April in Manchester, think the 11th of March is to soon. Hope I've made the right discision. Jeanie xxxx  -

Hi Jojo, Back at work since Monday but feeling quite tired and having early nights. When are you planning your first fill ?. I'm booked in for Manchester on April 8th, March one seemed a bit to soon. Does anyone know if the Manchester venue is just a hotel room? Love Jeanie -

Hi Sussie, I agree with Splatt, the hotel Camponile in Vilvoorde is a good place to stop at, it's Clean and most people stop there. Didn't have any problems flying home, just felt uncomfortable being sat in one posisition for a long time, we had a two hour delay due to the weather. As for sight seeing, I really didn't feel like doing anything after the op, for one thing your given a drink when you have your x-ray.This gives you the runs, it can last for two days. All I wanted to do was rest before I few home. Jeanie x Thanks MiaBlue and Gary for your info on stitches. I think I have one where the drain was. A couple of the dissolvable ones dug in me, so I trimmed them and have had no trouble since. Couldn't get in to see the nurse untill Friday, so hope this want be too long to have my stitch taken out, it will be fifthteen days old by then.:tongue_smilie: -

Been very tired since I got back, not done very much at all. The op went well, felt a bit sick afterwards, but was fine when given sickness tablets. Was very impressed with the whole set up, being picked up and taken everywhere. The care before and after, from all staff was excellent. The Hospital and Hotel was very clean. I was very lucky, I got a room to myself because they thought my name was a man's name and all the beds had gone by then, they couldn't put me on the men's ward, so the only one left was a private room with telly and all. Maybe I'm not jinxed after all. Good advice was given from Barbs about taking your own mugs and coffee. Can buy milk from local shops. The Hotel stops serving meals at the weekend, but they will make snacks for you or order out side pizza on request. Resturant on forth floor of Hospital for those travelling with you. Don't forget to take passport for identification and take a ticket from the machine when you first go into Hospital. Hi Jojo, hope you got home safely, that plane delay was a pain, in more ways than one. Say hello to Johnny from me and Eric, he's a nice guy. Sorry to hear that Freckles is feeling low. Hope it want be for long, miss reading her comments and good advice. Sending hugs and kisses xxxx -

Hi Freckles, Sorry to hear about that, with two elderly parents to look after, know it cant have been an easy decision. Will pass on your regards to both. Everyone discharged safely at 2pm today and Jojo one of the strongest has just gone out for a walk with her companion. Jeanie is upstairs resting, felt a bit queezy after the barium from the xray before leaving hospital, but think its mainly tiredness. Frederick just been round to everyone at hotel at 7pm, cant fault these guys at all, very professional. Forgot to mention to you all that when we arrived, Belgium was a whiteout after 3 days of snow. The roads are clear but the pavements over here still iced up like we were in uk after xmas, so anyone heading over next week for treatment bring hats, scarves, glooves and good treaded shoes. Next post hopefully from Jeanie herself, best regs, Eric -

Hi Everyone, Eric here Jeanie Jinx husband ! Jean was first down to theatre this morning and all has gone well for her:thumbup:. Left the hospital around 1.30pm with Jean fully awake and looking surprisingly well and alert. Jojo had just gone down to theatre as well so will let you know how she is doing in few hours time. Think they said 7 down for ops today. All the advice on here was extremely helpful so big thanks to all of you:thumbup:, we will do our bit to add support and any advice that we can contribute after the experience. Chris did the hotel visit last night as Frederick was still out of the country but Frederick was there this morning at the hospital and came back two or three times to Jeans room to let me know how things were progressing in the theatre and recovery room. All very nice guys indeed. One bit of advice is to take your passport on the morning to hospital reception when you check in. Apparently they are now checking your identity. Funny moment was when they looked at us this morning and had Jean down in a male room. They had mistaken Jean for "John" as in Jean Claude Vandamme. At one point I thought I was going to have the op instead of Jeanie:sad:. Anway speak to you later, after visiting this evening with an update on jojo as well; Txs Eric -

Thanks Freckles, thats a relief I couldn't find Manchester on his list, had visions of travelling all over. JoJo, see you in a couple of days, (yip ee). I will call you at the airport. It's comforting to Know that you'll be there and we can both support one another, we can have a good natter and compare notes. See you very soon, Jean x Love this forum it's so reasuring to know there's always people to talk to for advice.:cursing: -

Thanks freckles and Carriejess your posts were very informative, I understand it more now and appreciate Carriejess's frankness. Sometimes bluntness is needed to get to the point, thanks again. Another question has arisen, what other providers are there, and would they be nearer then London, Edinburgh and south wales. I live in ST Helens (Merseyside) and would want somewhere nearer but at the same time would not want to compromise quality shall we say. Does anyone have any info and thoughts on this. -

Congradulations to all new Bandsters, this will be me very soon. I fly out on Thursday and have the band Friday. It's been great reading all your posts, I've picked up some really good tips and advice from you all, thank you all very much. I'm looking forward to it but feeling slightly anxious at the same time. There is one thing that really confuses me though, and that is, the fills. Is every body different, and how often and how many do you have and how long In between. I've read most of the posts and I'm still none the wiser. Any claritiy on this matter will be much appreciated? Confused Jeaniejink. -

Jojo, You don't have to go alone. Have PM'd you as I'm now confirmed for the 12th Feb and husband is there to carry our bags:thumbup:. We did the deposit tonight and booked our flights on the Flybe link you sent us, so we will meet up at Manchester with you on the 11th. Barbs, anyone else, advice appreciated on what foods and amounts to take just to get us over the weekend. When are you meant to start the low fat diet ? Does Frederick send this out or do you just start one of your own now. Excited and apprehensive at the same time. Just been looking at Cross trainers as were both finding it difficult to get to the Gym at the moment with busy work schedules. Love Jeaniejinx -
