I've only made a couple of posts on here. My last post was the day I went in for surgery. Well, here is where I stand. When I started the 2 week pre-op diet I was 365 lbs. Day of the surgery (March 9th) I weighed in at 346. Here I am now around the 8 week mark and I've lost an astounding 57 pounds! I'm now at 308! I can't believe how the weight is just melting off...even my surgeon says this is the best he's ever seen, and boy does that make me feel good. I have 68 pounds til I reach my goal of 240. I feel good, I've been playing basketball, walking in the evenings and I bought a nice Cannondale mountain bike to help get the heart rate up. I've been told I am no longer diabetic and I've been taken off of the metformin, one of my blood pressure meds and a cholesterol med. I went from wearing a 4x shirt to a 2x in about 6 weeks. Folks...this is the best decision I have ever made and for those looking for info because you want to have it done...stop thinking about it and do it! My first fill was roughly 2 weeks ago and my doc put 3cc's in. Through trial and error I'm learning what I can and cannot eat. I have made some bad choices, and yes, I did pay for it...but it's all a learning experience. Good luck to everyone and I'll try to keep my progress posted to encourage those who are having a difficult time. Thank you all. Kevin.

Well, after months of Dr. appointments and waiting and emails and more waiting...I finally had my band installed. Today is my 2nd day with the band, first full day home. I don't have much of an appetite...have to force myself to drink that broth and water. My pain is minimal (sharp pain in left shoulder) but I feel good considering. Any tips, tricks or suggestions are welcome. Wish me luck! :blushing:

1st post here folks. This past friday I finally got my surgery date! March 9th. Been on the liquid diet for 3 days now. I can honestly say I'm not really hungary, but I feel empty and sluggish. It's everything I can do not to stop on my way home from work and shove a cheesburger down my throat. I'm doing 5 packs of carnation instant breakfast each with 8 oz skim milk 5 times a day, about 3 bottles of water and 8-12 oz of beef or chicken broth. I drank a half a can of heart healthy tomato soup last night and felt horrible that I did, so no more cheating even it's "just a little bit". Stay strong everyone:unsure:
