I've only made a couple of posts on here. My last post was the day I went in for surgery. Well, here is where I stand.
When I started the 2 week pre-op diet I was 365 lbs. Day of the surgery (March 9th) I weighed in at 346. Here I am now around the 8 week mark and I've lost an astounding 57 pounds! I'm now at 308! I can't believe how the weight is just melting off...even my surgeon says this is the best he's ever seen, and boy does that make me feel good. I have 68 pounds til I reach my goal of 240. I feel good, I've been playing basketball, walking in the evenings and I bought a nice Cannondale mountain bike to help get the heart rate up. I've been told I am no longer diabetic and I've been taken off of the metformin, one of my blood pressure meds and a cholesterol med. I went from wearing a 4x shirt to a 2x in about 6 weeks. Folks...this is the best decision I have ever made and for those looking for info because you want to have it done...stop thinking about it and do it! My first fill was roughly 2 weeks ago and my doc put 3cc's in. Through trial and error I'm learning what I can and cannot eat. I have made some bad choices, and yes, I did pay for it...but it's all a learning experience. Good luck to everyone and I'll try to keep my progress posted to encourage those who are having a difficult time. Thank you all. Kevin.
