I'm just starting the process.  I've had my consultation with the surgeon and going thru all the insurance criteria such as nutritionist visit, etc.  So EXCITED!!!! and nervous.   More to come....later!June 14, 2010 - first day of pre-op liquid diet.  3 days to go and I'm nervous and excited and skeptical and apprehensive and hopeful.6/21/10 - well it's 4 days post-op and I survived!  Surgery went well...stayed 1 night in the hospital.  Saturday was rough.  I felt like I was starving all the time....such bad hunger pains.  Sunday was a little better and it was also easier to move with the incisions.  I did have an allergic reaction to the bandaids I guess because I have some blisters around the areas where the band-aids were.  Woke up this morning at 4:00 AM cramping from hunger so I drank a protein drink and all was well.  I am full liquids for the next 5 weeks...which means I can have liquids plus oatmeal, yogurt, jello and pudding.  Yummy!  The best thing was I could have my coffee back...albeit decaffeinated.  9 pounds lost since my Monday pre-op weigh in a week ago.  So far so good!  God will get me through this.
