I've always been over weight. I retired from 30 years of working on an assembly line a little over 3 1/2 years ago. I put on 70 pounds since then and couldn't stand another day of being fat. My boss had the Lap Band surgery back in 2003and did really good. I talked to him about it and decided then to check it out after I retired. Being obese hurts. My legs and right ankle makes it hard to walk and do the things I want to do. Also I have to take high blood pressure medicine and cholesterol medicine. I'm only 55 years old and have a lot of adventures left in me. I had my surgery on January 12, 2010. I believe this is the start of a new and better life for me.
