Hey, I thought I was really in pain. The suture spots were a little sore but I really thought I was in pain....it was gas. Somehow I figured out how to relieve some of that pressure (I know, tmi) and now I don't even feel like I had surgery at all, I feel 100%. Once I get this tether ball off that the doctor attached, which by the way was the most annoying part of it all, I'll be great. I had to advise some new freshmen today so it was kind of hard but that was apparently due to the gas. I should be able to work a full day on Monday judging by the way I feel right now. I haven't even been hungry yet and have to remind myself to drink something, so we'll see how this goes. Congrats to the latest bandsters, let us know how you're doing.

I'm just curious as to why no one will communicate with me on this forum. I joined back in September and the only way anyone will respond to anything I say is if I directly send them a personal message. I even contacted the moderator to find out if everyone can see my postings...apparently they can.<br /> <br /> I stopped posting for awhile and just kept up with everything and then started back posting and still no one responds to me. They will reply to posts after me but never to me. I thought for sure when I posted today that I had a surgery date that someone would at least offer a congratulations...but no. They did however offer congratulations and support to others in the similar situation and after mine.<br /> <br /> I'm not looking for any sympathy, I don't know what I want, I guess I just thought that I would receive some support. From now on I guess I'll just keep up with everyone's progress and new information.

I'm in bandland. Things are going ok, vicodin is my new best friend. Didn't use it yesterday and couldn't sleep at all. I have 5 incisions, the longest about an inch, I guess that's the port incision. The most botherson part is the ball they attached to me, it is working my last nerve. Well, I just wanted to update everyone. Good luck to the next batch, I think the meds are starting to kick in now. night night

You should have told him to kiss your fat butt. At least you're not out there begging people to set you up on dates. What is his problem that he's not man enough to find a date on his own? Maybe he's too lazy to put in the work for himself. Just ignore him, he's an ass.

Good luck and yes please let us know how you're doing.

I'm glad to hear everyone has come out of surgery ok. Wow, there's lots of us for the 6th. My nerves are jittery and my stomach is growling....2 weeks of liquids is AAWWWW! MM: I'm sorry to hear about the troubles you're having, hopefully your doctor and offer some kind of remedy that will prevent future patients having to go through that.

Waiting Insurance Approval.
reeburgdon replied to carolyn5683's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It depends on the insurance companies. Some seem to get it out of the way while others seem to drag it on as if they are trying to discourage you. -
It's official - got the date!

June 6th How much have you lost so far?
-
I had tried posting more...didn't work. I know you have to have a subject that others find interesting and I guess I got really discouraged when I announced I had my surgery date and nada. But I'm cool now, I've heard from several people that were also having a hard time fitting in and from some of the more well known people on the board and I'm extremely grateful and appreciative of them for taking the time. Most of what I learned about the band I learned on this site, so I am very glad I found this site. How are you and your wife doing?
-
oldspark, i love that answer.

Keep us updated after your surgery and you will show them when their wives are winking at you behind their backs.

You guys are great. I'm getting nervous getting closer to my June 6th date and could really use the support. My doctor requires a 2 week liquid diet so I'm miserable. I'm also trying to stock up on liquid and mushies for after the surgery, any recommendations would be appreciated.

Doctor Says its a no-go - Any solutions?
reeburgdon replied to nr-vsg2be's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine also said that if they find a hiatal hernia they will take care of it then. -
When I spoke to BCBS about this they said it needed to be a 5 year span to show that you were obese, so from 2002 to 2006 is how they would look at it. My doctor said they knew if you were overweight in one year that you most likely didn't lose all of the weight and put it back on in that time span. So call them for verification, because I had missing years and still got approved.

Need food suggestions for snacks & meals-please
reeburgdon replied to clynnc's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Are the strawberry rice cakes ok for the band? I guess I'm a freak because I love rice cakes, even the plain ones. -
My paperwork was sent to BCBS on April 27th and I was approved on May 9th...first request with no problems...my surgery is scheduled for June 6th!:clap2: Exciting and scary!:biggrin1: I learned so much on this site to get me prepared; thank you all for sharing your information and experience. I'll keep you updated. Ree

Thank you, I'm excited and scared.

I'm proud of you guys, I've actually chatted with you before. I'm June 6th with Dr. Frank Veninga in Carrollton, TX
-
I think after this everybody will know me, but not for the right reasons.
-
You look so great, I've been following your postings and progress. Everyone, I really do appreciate you, but I truly thought no one would even see this post. I didn't mean to make anyone feel obligated or bad, I was just down and that was how I vented. I've learned a lot through all of your experiences. So, thank you all because at least now I know you guys can see me which solves that mystery, but I'm ok.

Has anyone gotten out of the Dr supervised diet?
reeburgdon replied to TheLid's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have BCBS UT Select and prior to our new fiscal year (Sept 1st) they only required proof of at least 5 years MO. Now they also require a 6 month doctor supervised diet and there was no way around it, even with the letter of medical necessity. My co-worker who was banded prior to the 6 month rule just told me it was worth waiting 6 months to have them pay for the surgery in full and that they probably do it as a way of making people not want to jump through hoops which gets them out of having to pay for it. I didn't fall for that one, I just completed my last weigh-in and my paperwork was submitted to them on Friday, so now I'm just waiting. -
I completed my 6 month diet on Thursday and Dr. Veninga's office was submitting my paperwork to BCBS on Friday. So now it's just wait and see. They said the response time could be 2-6 weeks. So, I'm just waiting.
