Just trying to find out if there is anyone in Arlington and if they would like to be a buddy. Let me know.
-
I'm in central Arlington.
-
Thanks for all the info, I will put some of it into practice and keep on trying. I'll find a common connection between my band and I and get it to working.
-
I walk and do other cardio.
-
don't think so on carbs, but no on sweets and not drinking the calories either.....confusing isn't it?
-
between 1200-1800 calories a day; i can eat chicken or steak if i chew really well and eat really slowly; exercise about an hour 3 days a week; and i was instructed to wait about 30-45 min to drink

I am definitely a slow loser. Banded June 6, 2007 and I have lost (drumroll please) 10lbs. Yes, ladies and gentlemen that is all. I have 3.8cc in a 4cc band and plenty of restriction, still nada. My doctor is not sure either because my band is working properly, I'm eating properly and exercising. Any suggestions?

I'm in Arlington. Where are you? Is there anyone else in Arlington Texas that would want to try to get together to work out?

I got my 2nd fill today. I have the small band and at my first fill they put in 2cc and I had absolutely no restriction. Today they saw there was about 1.6cc still in the band and they added more, so I now have 3cc. I'm on liquids for the next 24 hours. I can hear/feel a gurgling when I drink, so I hope I get some restriction this time.

I'm in Arlington, where are you? -
I went for a conference last year and stayed at the Bally's hotel. It's mid-strip and I think it was fairly expensive. I didn't have any fun because I didn't know anyone there. I'm willing to go next year. Keep me updated.

What's Zumba?

What do you tell people at work
reeburgdon replied to ghostbuster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just told them I had to have a procedure done. I'm not one that gives out a lot of personal information so they didn't ask. I didn't tell them specifically because I don't want to have to deal with the 'how much have you lost' inquiries on a regular basis. When I lose weight I will tell them how because there are several others that could benefit from it. -
Ok, sad but true statement...I have never rode a bike in my life. Not even as a kid. My doctor is in Carrollton, he was referred by a co-worker and he is wonderful. The doctor in Arlington did not accept our insurance. I think that park may be where or at least close to where my son played soccer last year.

Hey guys, I had my first fill on July 18th and have not had any restriction. I go for my next fill on August 21st so I'm hoping for some restriction this time. I have not lost any weight but I haven't gained any either. I wish there was someone close to me that I could work out with or something so that I wouldn't feel so alone in this. I don't get to work out much because this is my busiest time at work and I just be sooooo tired in the evening and dang it's hot here. I made sure that I put a cardio kickboxing class on my school schedule for the fall. I figured if I'm getting graded on it I'm more likely to do it. Well.....later.

Scared to tell boss any ideas?
reeburgdon replied to short1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would definitely let her know about the hand surgery. I would not tell her about the band surgery. One because she does have such a negative attitude, Two because it's none of her business. One thing you do need to do is not let her get to you; you need to be in the right frame of mind for surgery and don't need to be upset because someone else is having a tantrum. Do what's right for you and just try to ignore her and her pissy moods. Let us know how you're doing. -
Same to you.

To all: How much weight did you lose between surgery and your first fill?

Hello ShellMarr and welcome!

Hello to all the newbies, congratulations to all the new bandsters and best wishes to those about to be banded. I'm still doing well. Once the ball was removed I found out why it was there. Ouch...port pain. But it wasn't so bad just a new pain and now its ok. I still haven't lost any frigging weight yet and I'm still swollen so it looks like I gained instead. My scars are healing very well and I don't think I will even need any scar cream once the scabs fall off. Other than a little tenderness I don't even feel like I have a band and when I see my doctor I want proof that he gave me one and didn't just cut me and stitch it up. Don't really be hungry, but that could be from already doing 2 weeks on the liquid diet. We'll see, well thanks for listening to me rant.

ja9va: I haven't heard alot of people say that they've gotten this but I trust my doctor and I really believe that I'm not in as much pain as I should be because I have it. It's called the OnQ (like: on cue) and more info can be found at Ask Your Surgeon About Using ON-Q PainBuster to Reduce Your Pain After Surgery.. If it had not been for the gas pain I would have been just fine because it releases 2ml of anesthestic directly into my abdomen every 2 hours automatically. Also, I got on the scale (I know it's too soon) and shouldn't have because nada zip zero on weight loss. It's actually up a few pounds due to the fluid from the ball and the gas. The ball is just annoying after awhile, it's like having an umbilical cord attached that you have to drag with you. It came with a nice black bag but I have to tuck the cords when I do go out so that strangers won't see them and be staring.

The ball releases an anesthetic directly into the abdomen and lasts about 3-5 days. It's time released. It's not a drainage thing.
