I've been overweight since I was 7 years old. I had my tonsils and adenoids removed when I was 6, and could suddenly taste food. When I hit my 30s, I knew I needed surgery to help me lose weight. I had hit 450 lbs. My dad, aunt, and cousin all had the bypass done in the early 90s, back when it was first coming around, and they all had complications, that I knew I didn't want to go that route.
So, in 2006, I decided to go for the lapband (got it July 13th). I managed to lost 150 lbs by 2009 (it would have been more, but when my husband went to Iraq in 2007, ice cream was my best friend). In 2009, I got pregnant with my daughter and gained weight during the pregnancy, and kept gaining weight after my stomach was so irritated that one day I would be loose, and the next day tight. After fighting the band for 2 years, and getting very bad acid reflux, my surgeon suggested doing the sleeve.
May 28th I got my band removed, and July 23rd I got sleeved. I wasn't weighed when I got my surgery done, so I had to go with my one month check up weight of 410 as my starting weight. If I go with what I weighed at my pre-op appointment with the hospital, that weight would be 430. Hmmm thinking about that, I think I will go with the pre-op weight since that was pre-op, and it looks better lol.
So, my goal, since I've never been a normal adult weight is to end up being a size 18 or 16. I'm just going to go by how I feel when I get there.
