I lost 19lbs my first 2 weeks and 4 the 3rd week and only 2 this past week... I have been noticing that I can actully eat more lately, although I still try not to. I think i am ready for a fill. I had my surgery in Mexico, so I have to wait until I am 6 weeks post op to have my fill through the local clinic... they won't do it until then. In the meantime... any words of advice to keep me on track. I am struggling with the excercise, but have walked the past 2 days at work... problem is we walk and get chi tea... which is 180 calories I would otherwise do without... but I want the excuse to walk.

it's just really frustrating to hear this crying every day on here... i like to read the encouraging things and the frustrations and successes of those who are doing it and making it work...and how. of coarse there are some monetary frustrations, but c'mon today the poster was complaining about paying for a fill for gods sake... she got the surgery and all previous fills paid for in full... and she was complaining about $250... then yelled at me for suggesting that that was a good price for a fill. I have heard of them being as hight as $1200 with Flouroscopy. In addition... I also pay a fortune for health insurance for myself and children and it does not cover anything for me in this regard... nor will it cover any problems I have related to the band. I gained my weight after being hospitalized after DV... and the ending of my 12 year marriage... depression and total lack of self control or care for that matter. Which brings me to the point that by the time you decide this is what you want to do you should be honest enough with youself to know what you are willing to do to achieve your goal, and complaining about a few dollars weather it be $250 or $15k isn't the issue... your health is and if you want to succeed you will make it happen. Money comes and goes... you only get one body! Most people are on here to learn and support each other not listen to babies cry about a few bucks... my point is that if you don't really want it bad enough to do it then don't.

This is the post that set me off! I simply told of my research regardig pricing and that $250 is a good price for a fill and this is what I got... so Wahhhh... if you want to cry about it, and yell at people, go yell at your husbands employer! You don't need to be YELLING on here! Grow up and quit expecting everyone to pay for your mistakes... no one got you fat, you did it on your own! -

You are correct... we don't all have the same bills/needs... some of us live within our means and take care of elder family members as well as our own children... some of us even do it after horible divorces that leave us homeless with nothing more than our smiles to get us started again. I do not have a high paying job, I am simply a hard worker who works my butt off to take care of my mortgage, 3 children, 83yo grandmother (with no Income), and myself. $250 is a lot of money to me... and takes me 3 days to earn... but without my health I can not provide for my family, so it is a priority to me. Maybe you can pray for someone else to pay for it for you, so you can continue to pay for whatever it is you and your husband find as priorities. Good luch in your search for a "cheap" doctor. -

You look AMAZING.... Congrats!!! -
I am sooo sick of hearing people complain that their insurance won't cover their surgery and / or won't cover their fills... did your medical insurance buy you the hoho's and bonbon's or the couch and video games that helped you get here? Suck it up, if you want something bad enough you will find a way to make it happen. I am a single mother with 3 kids and 2 jobs. I drive a used car and don't do many extra things because I put my health on my priority list a few years ago and saved for my surgery... self pay!!! I have to pay for all of my fills and follow ups myself and am sooo sick of hearing all the big babies complain that they have to pay a portion of the cost themselves... WAHHHHHHH, cry me a river!!!

Sounds like you won't be getting a fill if you are unwilling to make a sacrifice and pay for it. A good majority of us on this forum sacrificed a lot and had to pay out of pocket for the whole thing... so i don't think you are going to get much sympathy on here for having to pay for a fill. Glad you had good insurance and have not had to "pay a penny" so far. Maybe you can find someone on a corner somewhere that will inject you with something "cheaper"... but if you want a reputable doctor to do a real fill you will have to pay... and $250 is at the bottom of the fee scale for a fill... unless you are willing to risk problems. -

I live in Washington and had to self pay for my Band and will also have to pay for my fills. $250 is actually a good price for a fill. I have seen them between $175 (by a nurse) and $600. Pay the $250 with a good doctor and be happy you didn't have to pay for the surgery. You are blessed to have had the coverage to get the surgery. -

How long did you stay off work?

I have a desk job and had surgery on Friday and flew home from Mexico to Washington on Sunday and went to work on Monday... I was fine except I had not planned my food well and ended up feeling hungry for a week or so. Buy your food in advance and you will be fine. Just don't lift anything heavy or try running around. Take you time to get up and drink your water. -
it has been hard... i won't lie, but now i see the results so soon and feel great! i wasn't getting enough protien at first and was dying of hunger, but have begun to try to correct that and am feeling fairly satisfied. not really sure i know what hunger is other than when my stomache has been growling like a lion. but the last 2 days have been good. my 9 year old daughter hugged me today and said "wow, mom you're loosing weight... i used to not be able to touch my fingers now i can do this- as she entertwined them together  made me feel really good... i had to tease and ask "are you sure your arms didn't jsut grow?" 19 lbs in 2 weeks tho... i feel great! hoping i can keep loosing at a good rate.
