Hello all.... Ok, so I'm on day three of my all liquid diet and im sitting here starving and thinking my question is... post op is it better to buy sugar free or fat free?

Hello, I am actually 9 days smoke free!! Never thought in this world I could do it.. I'm young being 23 but I've been smoking a pack a day since I was 16. I'm on chantix. couldn't of done it with out it. I smoked for the first 8 days on it, then on the 9th day I woke up and decided I just wasn't going to smoke.. The first three days were pretty rough, had bad headaches, but since then, I'm fine. I crave them now just emotionally I guess you would say, but not physically. You should really check into chantix. it's great.

This 6 month thing is killing me!!!! LOL...... My six months will also be up in June, hopefully it won't take long for a surgery date, that being if I get approved:unsure:

As long as you don't go under a 40 BMI, I would say your in the clear... No, I actually gained a pound my last weigh in :frown: I really need to kick it gear.

SO sorry to hear this.... I have UHC and yes, the 6 month diet is required for me. I am on month two. I started my diet before I even seen my surgeon.. I can't believe they didn't tell you that initially! Did your surgeon's office not check your requirements?? My advice is to do the 6 month diet and try for approval. The time does go by pretty quick..

I never heard of this restaurant before so I googled it.... it has it's full menu online if you wanna take a look at it so you have an idea of what you can order beforehand...

I can't answer for all insurance companies, but my insurance says you have to have a bmi of 40 or over, or a bmi of 35 or over with two or more comorbidities... such things as hypertension, sleep apnea, diabetes.....ect.

Hi Jen.... I hear ya.. I need a change!! I simply did some research of doctors in my area. I called my insurance and found out the requirements... One is that I have to be on a 6 month supervised diet... So I went to a Nurse Practioner, told her that I was wanting lapband and needed to be on a 6 month diet. I then found a surgeon in network and called that office and told them that I was interested in lapband and wanted to have a consultation with the Dr. I went to my consult on the 20th....... He said I was a perfect candidate and that we'd go from there, simply meaning that his office would call me and we would start working on insurance approval.... hope this helps.

Hey Shelley I went to my first consult today also.... Don't be nervous.. it was a total breeze.. Filled out about 10 pages of paperwork...Met with the doc.. He just explained how the lapband worked, let me ask my questions, and said I was a perfect candidate and we'd go from there... Best of luck to you. Tiffany
