  1. I'm pretty new to this forum and have been loving reading everyone's advice and experiences with the band! Has anyone been banded by Dr. Tiffany Jessee in the Tampa bay area? My husband went with me to one of her seminars and were both very impressed. I'm on month 3 of my 6 month diet and was just wondering if anyone has experienced Dr. Jessee and her staff first hand? Thanks in advance for any input. Deb:smile2:
  2. Hello Ladies, I hope everyone is doing well and had a nice weekend! Mine was quiet and that is certainly OK by me!! I have to conduct a training for other teachers for two of the next three weekends. I head back to work tomorrow after finally having spring break. It was a quiet week, but I did end up getting a fill and I feel pretty good. When they asked at my lapband doctor's appointment about my month I told them about losing my dad and the robbery of my home...they were so sweet to me. I guess I never realized that they send a report to my primary doctor's office and that someone actually reads those reports. The next day the physicians assistant that I always see called me on my cell phone to see how I was holding up because she read the report from my lapband doctor and was worried because I had gone through so much in the last month. I feel so fortunate to have such a great team of doctors!! I was really blown away by their kindness. Denise...I need new undies and bras too! I've been holding off until I get smaller, but now I just look ridiculous with my baggy bras and undies! It's also time to re-size my wedding band and engagement ring. I can now fit both of them on my middle finger. My husband told me to just stop wearing them because he's afraid I'll lose them. I like the idea of wearing them on my middle finger so I can give people my 'one fingered' salute with my shiny rings. Ha ha ha I swear I'll try not to stay away too long again. I'm still sort of in a haze. Deb
  3. Hi Ladies, It's been too long since I've posted...sorry about that. Life has slowly returning to normal (as normal as can be) since the death of my dad. We didn't have a funeral fir him, but followed his wishes and had an open bar fir all friends at his favorite watering hole. It was incredible...that's what I want when my time comes! I got to hear great stories about my dad from people that really loved him. I go for another fill next week while on my spring break. I think I need it, but might cancel if I change my mind. Denise: I am sorry about the loss of your MIL. I hope the extended family doesn't make you too crazy!! Take care everyone! Deb
  4. Just wondering...have any of you been banded by Dr. Tiffany Jessee in the Tampa, FL area? My husband and I went to her seminar and were pretty impressed with her. Just curious if anyone has any input on Dr. Jessee and her staff. Your input would be greatly appreciated!! Deb:smile2:
  5. I had my surgery with Dr. Jessee on June 30, 2010! You cannot go wrong with Dr. Jessee and her staff. They have been wonderful! Deb
  6. Hello Ladies... Sorry I've been away again. Last week my house was broken into and this past weekend my dad passed away. Needless to say, I'm stressed to the max. I had a fill the night before the break in and definitely have restriction. All the stress gives me more! In Daytona Beach (where I grew up) taking care of all the details of my dad's life. Grateful he passed peacefully and that my sisters and brother were there too. Sorry to be the Debbie Downer lately! I know things will get better!! Deb
  7. Sorry I've been away all week! I've been dealing with my own drama this week. Monday I got another fill and have been feeling pretty good. I'm finally down 60 pounds!! Unfortunately, also on Monday night someone broke into my house while my husband and I were asleep. They popped a lock off one of windows and came right in. They took my entire purse and my husband's wallet. The sheriff told us we were lucky we slept through it because anyone bold enough to break in while people are home are bold enough to use a weapon. We feel very lucky even though it was a huge pain to replace all our IDs and bank stuff!! I hope you are all well!! Deb
  8. Melody, So glad that surgery went well! Here's to a speedy recovery! Deb
  9. Glad that you and your family are okay Denise! Elfie: You are not alone on this thread!! Hope you are all well! Deb
  10. Good morning, Elfie: I'll be thinking about you in the next couple of weeks. I think your awesome attitude will see you through no matter what happens! But, a few good vibes never hurt anyone! Leigha: Wow! You have certainly had a lot going on...hang in there! I hope insurance dealings won't be too bad and that your husband's ex can find some peace. Denise: I am totally jealous and wish I was back in Hawaii! I hope you are loving every single minute of your trip and that your band is behaving! I don't have much to report...my weight is staying steady, but think I'm losing inches. Trying hard not to get too worried about it! Have a great day my fellow bandsters!! Deb
  11. Hi Everyone, I hope you are all well! Not much going on for me. I started walking at lunch with a co-worker and have been walking at least a mile or more each day. It feels good to get out in the fresh air! Deb
  12. Elfie, My husband raises fresh water tropical fish we lease a 13 acre farm and have 67 100x30 foot ponds. He has traveled to central America to collect fish and then breeds them on his farm. Most of the fresh water tropical fish sold in the US are raised here in the Tampa Bay area. It's interesting, but we are at the mercy of the weather! I hope you are all well!! Deb
  13. Sounds like we've all had an awful lot going on other than our bands! Hang in there everyone...we at least have each other for support when you need to vent! I understand how hard it is to hold on to a business... My husband is a tropical fish farmer and after the incredible cold here in FL in 2010 and losing all our fish he had to start from scratch. Just remember to breathe and visit this forum often! Hang in there everyone! Deb
  14. Hi Everyone! Sorry I was away last week... Took a week off of work to go visit my family. My mom finally retired and my oldest brother was visiting from Boston. It's the first time I've seen my brother since we almost lost him after a massive heart attack last year ( he was given a 2%. chance of survival...glad he's stubborn). I'm still pretty tight after my last fill and still learning how to eat again! Still losing so I won't complain! I hope you are all hanging in there. Your posts and encouragement keep me going when I'm frustrated. Deb

  16. Hi Everyone, Arg...this LBT makes me crazy sometimes. I'm not a frequent poster, but read every day and last night I actually posted and it is gone! I hope everyone is doing well. I had a fill last Friday and boy is my band tight. I can still get down my Water, but I feel like I'm having to re-learn how to eat again! On the bright side I finally have lost over 50 lbs. 53 to be exact and that means I am half way to my goal. Woo hoo!! I finally posted a new picture on Facebook and people are surprised at how I look. It's nice to see some of their comments. Not everyone knows I've had a lapband, but almost all do. I hope you are all staying warm where ever you are. It's been nice in Tampa, FL, but I feel for those of you covered in snow. Arg!! Take care, Deb
  17. Hi Everyone, Just wanted to stop by briefly to wish Shad well on her port revision surgery! Deb
  18. Hi Everyone, Sounds like everyone is off and running into this new year...myself included. Not much news for me...been fighting with the same 2 pounds all week. It's weird. I'll lose consistently for several days and then bam! It just stops. I think my body is not wanted to give it up...I'm just ready to hit the fifty pound mark. Only three to go! I hope you are all doing well and staying warm or dry where ever you may be. Deb
  19. Never posted on this thread before, but have read almost all of the original!! Happy New Years to all my fellow bandsters. May the new year bring you love, laughter and good health! Deb

    Deductible?????

It probably depends on what kind of plan you have. I have a Humana HMO and just had to play my co-pays along the way including $250 to the hospital. Check on what kind of plan you have...Good Luck!

Debra, I totally agree with you...not a fan of this new site. It does seem like there are less blogs to read. Deb
