    Al-Anon anyone?

Hey Debbie & Cheri....I did it!! I am a Bandster!!. All went well. Except for the gas thing, I feel pretty darn good. I try to move around about every 2 to 3 hours for about a half an hour. Nothing major, a little paperwork at the desk, fold some clothes, make a shake. No pain meds since the surgery. Haven't needed them. I am learning not to over do. I want to go, go, go. But I can't. And I know enough to understand what my body is telling me. I have the gas med in chewable form. Don't really know if it is doing any good. Something is better than nothing right now. My thanks to both of you for your concern. I take great comfort in knowing you are there.

    Al-Anon anyone?

Well, I am just about ready to go the hospital for my surgery. I am a little anixous, but overall quite calm. I see this day as another step in my recovery process. I have been guided to this point and know in my heart it is exactly where I need to be. By chairing and speaking at our Beginner's Meeting and our Regular meeting last night, I gathered a lot of strength and hope to keep me going. I have told members I was having surgery today, but not what procedure. I choose not to at this time. I was able to express how grateful I am to have my program, the fellowship, and my Higher Power-which I credit for getting me here in the first place. I know all will be the way it should. When everything is done, it will all be OK. And if it is not OK, then it's not done yet.

Cheri, Glad to hear things are moving forward for you. Your doctors procedure for an adjustment seems a great way to get the best results possible. Adjustments to our attitudes can be just as important as saline. Keep up the good work!

Great Job Cheri!! Progress not perfection. As Debbie stated, we have the tools to make positive changes in our lives. I have always been told that the Al-Anon program was simple - - which is not to be confused with easy. Applying these tools and principles to all aspects of our lives may not be easy, the rewards (not just a number on the scale) are reason enough for me to work my program daily. Continued success in your recovery, you have earned it!

Debbie, Your thoughts and support are appreciated. It is comforting to know there are others that understand how any disease can change a person. And that there is help and hope in recovery for those that seek it. My best to you on the 10th!!

    Al-Anon anyone?

I am a grateful recovering member of Al Anon. For me, because of my program, I have been led to the place I need to be right now. Exactly when I was ready to be there. My surgery date is Feb 3, 2010,just a few days away. Due to the general nature of any surgery, I have some anxiety. But - Just for Today - I am have been given the gift of serenity. And for that, I will be forever grateful.
