    I'm just not sure...

I have had a very similar situation myself. I was referred by my PCM to see one surgeon. Called my insurance to make sure I was good to go. Usually I get an approval letter to let me know I can go see the surgeon, but I didn't so I thought a verbal confirmation from them was good. WRONG. I was going to the wrong surgeon. Didn't catch this until I was viewing claims online, and realized they weren't being paid! I had the psych eval, nutritional visit all done. I was on the verge of having them submit papers for approval, when I found out. So now I am starting over with a new surgeon. THANK GOODNESS he accepted all the paperwork from the previous surgeon. I just have get the endoscope done, wait for approval and schedule a surgery date. I truly believe this is worth the extra work and of course the long wait. I do have to say that I was soooooo upset over this, and I felt like throwing in the towel from the aggravation, but I REALLY need this. So I pulled up my boot straps and trudged forward. I do have to say, I like this surgeon better, so it was a mini blessing despite the aggravation.
  2. Reading all of these posts has brought tears to my eyes. I will keep this thread ear marked to keep me motivated when I start my pre-op diet and get banded. Thank you everyone! One of my most embarrassing moments is when I took my daughter to Six Flags. One of her favorite rides is the Pirate...nice easy going ride. I finally get up to the front, and the man operating the ride made me wait with my daughter until most of the ride was full so the weight it distributed equally on the ride. I wanted to run away! :frown:
  3. Ok, check one more thing off my list. My psych eval was quick, easy and painless. He made my life easier and immediately emailed my surgeon the evaluation paperwork. Now it is just a waiting game of insurance approval and getting a date for surgery...whoohooo!!!

    Introduction

  5. Hello everyone! I am new to posting, but not new to this forum. I have been reading the forum for a while now to do some research on the LAP-BAND®®. I am an Army Wife (hence the id) and am currently living in West Virginia while my husband does his recruiting stint. I have been MO for many years now. I have been there for my child, my husband, the military and I am last. It is now MY time. I am ready to get healthy. I have seen my PCM, and had initial consult with the surgeon. Since I have TPR, I only have to see the nutritionist, have a psych consult, and wait for approval. I am very excited about my decision and look forward to getting to know some of you better. I will definitely keep posting updates. I would like to thank everyone that posts in this forum, it has helped me tremendously...the good, the bad, and the ugly.
