After several years of failed diet attempts along with emotional upheavels that have come along, I decided to check into my employers insurance for weight loss surgery information one day. I researched the actual surgery and was amazed at what I learned. I was also happy that my insurance covered most of this expensive surgery. I decided after some time and thinking this through and all of the tests you must pass I was ready for the next step and felt the lap band was the right choice for me. I was back at work within a week, not much pain or discomfort at all, just some adjusting to go through more than anything. A year has passed and I am telling you from my personal experience that due to some personal reasons, stress and many factors have contributed to my not losing much at all even with a few fills. This year has been a fact finding mission for myself. I have learned more about myself and plan to learn alot more. I am exercising more, watching my diet closer, and dealing head on with emotional issues that I should have dealt with a long time ago. My life is going through some very big changes at this moment but with hard work, dedication, friends and loved ones support I know I can do this. Some days are harder than others emotionally. Food has been a big part of social life and filled a void for me. So finding other outlets is and has been a challenge. I am hoping to meet new people and explore options as I change out of my cocoon and this year WILL be different!
