    Bored with Food!!

This is me as well. I just don't miss things like I thought I would. I used to love bread, but I really don't miss it. Of course, I would like to be able to eat a homemade biscuit on Christmas morning, but it's not a big deal anymore. I don't miss Diet Coke or soft drinks at all.
  2. That sounds like me. I don't know if it has anything to do with the surgery because I will be a year out on Feb. 8 so I guess it's just a coincidence for me.
  3. No. I don't recall ever getting a flu shot except maybe when I was a kid. I guess that is something I should do. LOL.

    Portion size meals

I probably eat around 1/2 cup of food per meal. Sometimes at night I can eat a little more.
  5. That sounds really good, but I don't think there is any way I could eat bread. I would love to be able to make these though.
  6. I know this question isn't for me so I'm sorry for hijacking . Does your doctor let you eat those foods after three weeks since surgery? I'm curious because that was the week I started mushies. It seems too soon to be eating solid foods, but if that is what your doctor said then I guess it is fine.
  7. I used to drink with my meals up until a few months ago. I know we aren't suppose to, but I got thirsty. Now, there is no way I could or would drink while eating. There is just no room for it. It gets better, and once you realize that it's going to hurt if you do then it makes it a little easier.
  8. I am wandering what everyone here does once you have a stuck episode. Do you make yourself throw up? Or do you wait it out? I tried waiting it out a few times I have gotten stuck, and it is really painful and took forever to go down. I now opt to make it come back up. I know this isn't good to do, but it makes it feel better instantly. Just curious what everyone does.
  9. The band does losen after a few days or weeks of getting a fill. I do know that eating Soups may not keep you full long. I hate some chili today from a local eatery, and it was a little runny. Not much substance to it so I was hungry about two hours later. But you did say you were getting more Protein so I'm not sure what to tell you besides hang in there. I'm not sure if I'm at restriction yet, and I have been banded since Feb. 8 of this year. You will get there!
  10. I do eat a hamburger every once and awhile (without the bun of course), but I hardly eat fast food so it is usually a grilled one from home. I have been wandering if I will ever be able to eat a hamburger with the bun ever again. Not that I really miss eating bread, but sometimes I miss taking big bites and eating the whole burger. LOL.
  11. It's probably the bread. You probably will not be able to eat bread once you get tighter. I know I don't even try it. The eggs can be a problem for some people. They go down fine for me. It seems my back hurts sometimes during a stuck episode.

    Taco Shells

Yes you can. I eat tacos sometimes. The crunchy ones go down better, but I can eat the soft shelled ones sometimes. I love tacos! If you get like me after you get banded, food just won't taste the same. It's weird. Good luck on your journey.

    TMI Mirilax is.....

Where do you get the Vitafusion gummies? I don't recall seeing them at Walmart when I checked last weekend. Thanks!

    TMI Mirilax is.....

I'm so glad you brought this up. I have been having a lot of troubles going to the restroom. About two weeks ago, I went a week in between having a bm. I finally took some milk of magnesia, but I am wanting something to take to help me get regular. I have been mixing Metamucil in with my tea twice a day, but it doesn't seem to be working. I have been doing this for about a week or a little longer so I guess it takes time.
  15. I am wandering what happens once you reach your goal weight? Do they take some Fluid out so you can eat a little more to help maintain weight or how does it work? I am curious because I like maybe 25 pounds from being at goal weight. Currently, I can only eat maybe 5-10 bites of food before I am full, which is helping me lose the weight. I am just curious as to what happens. Thanks so much!
  16. Thank you. I tried replying to your last message you sent, but it wouldn't let me for some reason. I didn't want you to think I was ignoring you or anything. I had surgery on Feb. 8 of this year. I'm down about 75 pounds. I want to get somewhere between 150-160. Then I guess I need to firm up. LOL. My skin has done pretty well so far.
  17. I don't count calories. I usually go on how much I can eat at a certain meal. Lately it has been maybe 10 bites of food.
  18. I'm 24 so I think my age/metabolism or whatever is helping me lose the weight. I hope I will be able to eat certain foods again in the future, but it's not a big deal because stuff just doesn't taste good anymore.
  19. I'm afraid I will hit a roadblock before I get to goal. It hasn't come yet and maybe it won't. I'm not going to lie. I haven't been the best patient in regards to eating right and exercising, but I have lost consistently. I honestly don't know how I have lost weight like I have. I just cannot eat a lot of anything except popcorn. It seems I can eat all that I want. The other day I went shopping with my mother. I didn't eat Breakfast at all. At about 11:30, we went to Cracker Barrel. I just got two side order of veggies. I maybe ate half a cup or a little more. I ate something for supper, but food just doesn't taste good to me anymore. I don't know what it is.
  20. I think I am a little tight now, but I may get some taken out because sometimes I do have problems eating. Are you able to eat different things now since you are in the maintenance stage?

    I look like a slob!

About all the clothes in my closet are too big. I have only bought a few new items that fit because I figure I will be going down in sizes before long. I do know, however, what I will be doing the 10 days I am off for Christmas and New Year. Cleaning out the closet!
  22. I think it took me about 2 weeks. My port still hurts sometimes to this day, and I have been banded since Feb. Hopefully that will get better, but you should feel better in a week or two.
  23. I was banded on 2-8-10, and I have lost 73 pounds. I didn't have a pre-op diet so all that has come after surgery.
  24. I was thinking the exact same thing this morning. I have mucus in my chest from a sinus infection I guess, and I have been coughing and hacking trying to get it out. I don't think it is anything to worry about because it is unlikely this will cause a slippage.
  25. I used to drink while eating before I got tighter, but you literally will not be able to once you get tight. I would die if I drank something while eating now.
