    Acid Reflux Problems

I would get in to see my doctor sooner. You don't want to take a chance on having a slipped band which reflux could be a sign of. Sounds like you are too tight in my opinion.
  2. I had a slipped band for a year before I got it fixed. I may not have if I didn't start gaining weight again, but I really knew I would eventually have to have it done. Mine didn't correct itself. I felt fine for the most part so I don't know what would happen if I would have left it like it was. I won't want to keep the Fluid in there if it is a partial slip. I kept having reflux and heartburn, and it was in no way fun.

    Soft Food Ideas

Are beans a good soft food? I've been wanting some good ole' pinto beans. That may not be good for the gas pains I've been having.
  4. I get these horrible cramps during the day. I guess it is gas? They are very annoying. I'm hoping they go away soon. I had surgery 3 weeks ago this coming Thursday.

    Port Moving Around..

Yes. Mine can still cause me some discomfort. Depends on what type of activity I'm doing. Mine has moved somewhat since I've lost weight.
  6. Sorry to hear that. Mine is still bruised but other than that everything is fine. Hope it's better soon.
  7. I didn't realize they actually used stitches. I didn't have any, and my wounds were covered with steri strips.
  8. I had my second surgery on March 8, and it seems like this time around gas pains are horrible. I take Gas X, and that helps for a couple hours, but then I get this cramping and pain in my belly. It seems also to be up in my upper chest area. It doesn't hurt in my shoulder anymore, but I am having upper back pain that started after surgery so maybe that is hurting the cause as well. I have been having these pains since Friday the 16th. Please tell me this is normal, and that they will go away eventually?
  9. I am a self pay patient, and the hospital I use is now affiliated with NorthStar Anesthesia so I had to call this place a few weeks before my surgery and pay them $800.00 for that part of the surgery. I get home from work a few minutes ago, and I have a bill from them for almost $3000.00 for anesthesia. The lady asked me when I called to pay before surgery how long I would be out, and I said it shouldn't take more than an hour for lap band, and she told me it was a flat rate for lap band anyway. I then get this bill so I am freaking out. I better not have to pay this because that isn't what I was told. Anyone ever have this happen to them? It appears they filled on my insurance which they didn't pay.
  10. I had surgery, for the second time, on March 8. Today I didn't have anything for breakfast just drank something. I had some egg salad for lunch, and tonight I am having potato soup. Cannot wait until Wednesday when I can move to more soft foods. Not a big fan of the pureed/mushies.
  11. I would think you could just about eat anything since you don't have much restriction yet. Just take it slow. I know I was able to eat any and everything I wanted up until like the 4th fill.
  12. Thank you for the responses. I had to pay the hospital like $4200.00. My doctor $1000.00, and the antheselogist (sp?) $800.00. The insurance didn't pay any of it. I payed all of that upfront a couple weeks before surgery. Hopefully, like you say Mel, they will get it straightened out. I already called and left a message to the lady I talked to about the surgery so hopefully everything works out.

Worried A Lil' About My Port

I believe mine has moved as well but I think it is normal when you lose weight. I called all freaked out and the nurse said it happens. Mine also pains me as well at times. It depends on what I'm doing.
  14. I put the $800.00 on my credit card, and it was charged to my card last month so it is already paid for.

    This Really Suxxx

Why does air bubbles cause the band to have to be removed? Never heard of this so I'm curious.
  16. May I ask when you had your revision and how it is going? What caused yours to slip? I had my band repositioned two weeks ago. I'm having some pain inside where my band is so I'm a little worried, but my back has been killing me so it might be from that.
  17. My brother has gained weight after he had bypass so this doesn't surprise me. I figured it might be common.

    Feel Things Inside

    Cannot say I have. Sorry.
  19. I would get all the fluid taken out and let your stomach rest for a month or a few months. You don't want to be dealing with a slipped band in the future.

    I'm Losing It!

Definitely go to your doctor asap. And don't eat any solids until you get an unfill. If it is partially slipped this could hurt it further. Acid reflux is a sign of being too tight.

    I'm Losing It!

When my band slipped, I was in pain just from swallowing my own saliva. As soon as anything went through my band, I had this sharp pain. You will know if it slipped usually unless it is a small slip that can correct itself.

    Feeling Sick?!

I noticed my first go around I would get nauseuous (sp?) really bad especially if I ate too much or too fast. I would have to make myself gag a little for it to go away. I'm hoping I don't have this problem the second time around.
  23. I believe it is around 4-6 weeks before they recommend doing that type of exercise. Walking would be fine but I would wait a few more weeks to do Zumba. Just my opinion though.
  24. I have constipation problems ever since I got the band. I will go days without using the bathroom. I'm not in any pain or discomfort so I just wait until I have to go. Don't know if that is a problem or not.
