I was banded 10/10 and HUGE coffee drinker, I mean I grind the beans and everything and have all diff. flavers etc. Oddly enough I am not going for the coffee ever since I got home. Ive been drinking tea. I NEVER drank tea?! Tea I alway thought was for sissys hehehe.Just kidding. seriously though, i suffered through the headaches in the hospital and got weened off the java and now im afraid to start again with my major coffe habit.

I have a body pillow and for myself it hasnt helped. I have been proping my pillow so Im up on a slant.

Kstar, are your pain killers not helping? I still cant lay on my left,(4 days banded) I probably could but it feels like I would disturb something. Im sure your going to start feeling less pain soon. Your only1 day out. I brought the heating pad to the hosp. but never used it. Ive read posts that the heating pad is for your shoulder pain and at the same time apply an ice pack to your stomache. That info came from a nurse on here. I found if I laid down in just theright position I felt less pain. For now just take it easy and dont do any jumping jacks:) However getting up for a little stroll in your room about once every hour will help with the gas and just to get things going. That helped. But more than anything just listen to your body, if your uncomfortable change position until you find a good one. You will have a much better night tonight!

Just got banded 3 days ago and I asked my doctor this question as a matter of fact and he said everything here but he also added that when doctors do a blind fill and the dr. has a hard time locating your port you run the risk of them poking a hole into the band aka leak.

Im only 2 days banded however Im starting to freak myself out. When I was trying to catch my connection plane today I started feeling a pain in my left side. I thought it perhaps was gas pains but it stayed pretty constant until I got home and turned into a shooting pain. Then it simply would come and go. Ive resorted to my bed because when I lay down I dont feel it. When I get up I can feel it again. Does this sound familiar to any bandsters out there? I plan to call my doc in the morning anyway but if anyone knows what this is please help so I can sleep tonight:notagree

Thanks for your help. I slept like a baby (thanks to the pain meds) and when I woke I only felt a little pang. I think Im gonna be alright. Im just going to take it easy today. By the way I did take gas x, thats what I thought too but it was a little suspicious when it hurt in the same exact spot for so long. Im new at this thing and thanks to you both. Im feeling much more at ease.

Great would be a bit stong. I feel really good. Just got home today after running through customs and connections. Took all day. I felt the gas thing creeping up as I made my way through the airport. Luckily I knew what it was(felt like a bubble in my side) from reading all of the posts here otherwise I probably wouldnt thought I was having a heart atack. I had my handy dandy Gas x and it really helped. Heres a tip that I really havnt seen and its somewhat obvious but on my way to getting banded I sat coach and was crunched up like a contortoinist? spell? so I upgraded for the way home to first class and Im sure glad I did. If you can, I highly recomend it. One word of caution however, I saw some amazing food going by me and couldnt have it but, as much as it looked good I really didnt feel like eating anyway. I was very comfy and happy though. I asked for lots of water instead and I got lucky- they did have the option of soup. Banded 10/10 Dr. de la Garza Monterrey, Mex.

Hi, just got banded yesterday. I feel pretty good, better than expected. Im still at the hospitals hotel. Just wanted to check in ,feelin a little groggy and my chicken broth just arrived:hungry:

Leaving today for Monterrey. Couldnt sleep last night so I thought looking around on the threads would put my mind:nervous at ease. Im excited!!!! Anyone else out there getting banded 10/10??

Kelli. are getting banded tomorrow or are you leaving tomorrow? Im getting banded on the 10th, which is tuesday.

Im still here. I havnt posted in awhile. I only have 3 days to go. Im going to Mexico on my own and am feeling pretty confident. My friends took me out to dinner tonight and they all are telling me to e-mail them the minute I get there and call them every hour on the hour. They think Im nuts for going alone. First they thought I was nuts for going to Mexico, now its YOUR GOING Alone! The way I see it is at least they care enough. So anyway just wanted to post to remind you hat Im leaving Monday and will be banded on Tuesday. Cant wait! I have to ask you.......Do you beleive everything you see or read. I think your choice to forward that was in bad taste for the people planning to go to Mexico. I have done enough research that I found that on my own anyway, way before I made my appointment to go to mexico. Its a scare tactic so the US doctor can market themselves and scare the crap out of people.:angry You needed me to spell that out for you. GROW UP and do more research before you send that stupid e-mail dumb ass!

Thanks TrueBlue. It helped hearing about your experience. I worried a bit about the flight home, that put me at ease. I imagined me teetering around an airport hunched over and standing in line at customs hehe. Well the freinds i wrote about in my earlier post, the ones that had their last supper.......one of the girls had to be pushed in a wheelchair and was throwing up at the airport! Im not posting this to scare anybody but I really think It was due to them pigging out the night before surgery.

Well my height definitely works in my favor. Im just a hair shorter than 6ft. and I weigh 265 and would like to be 170ish. Thats nice that you have a buddy to go with you. I see you dont have too much to lose. We will be reaching our goals before we know it! Im excited!

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. Are you bringing someone with you or are you going alone?

My bmi is 36. I would like to lose about 90. When I spoke to them a couple of days ago they said they would be sending me some sort of package in the mail so maybe it will have instructions to do so, however my friend who had the surgery back in January with de la Garza said that the night before, they had their last supper(you know what that means:hungry: ) It was her and a friend having it done the same day. So who knows? I DO KNOW I WONT BE DOING THAT.

My doctor is Dr. de la Garza. I hear Dr. Rumbaut is terrific! Your going to have a great experience, Im sure. Im going with de la Garza because a friend of mine went to him and also hes a little cheaper and the hotel is right in the hospital and since Im going alone I thought it would be good. I feel like I should be doing something?? Are you supposed to do any special pre op diet?

Hi there Central florida Bandsters! Orlando Here! I called Beltres's office and the receptionist was kind of rude or she was extremely busy and didnt seem to want to answer my question. I told her I was going to be banded in mexico and I just wanted to make sure the doctor would except me at his office and she said they dont, but then I told her I read about the doctor on this sight and then she said that they do! Kudos to this sight:) ! Band Power! It was strange..... So I just somehow got this funny feeling about it. Anyway just thought I should share wth you guys since Ive been freeloading off this sight doing research for a month.:heh: I have a few questions that maybe you can help me with. Im going to be banded on the 10th of October in Mex., going alone, dont know what I should be doing now?? Ive read I should set up with a doctor BEFORE I leave for Mex. What does that mean exactly? and In your opinion should I start following a special diet pre surgery? I have not been instructed to do so but........................? Also any tips, small or big on going it alone to Mexico so I can be prepared. Im getting excited and nervous.:speechles

Im being banded on October 10 by Dr. de la Garza. Im going alone. Is there anyone else going the same time. Im getting a bit nervous about going it alone.

I was in the exact same boat, looking for financing with a co signer due to bad credit and I got approved for the full amount with Citerra Financial. Hope that helps someone out here. Roxy

I just got my approval for the financing end of things today, yeah! Im not sure what day but I wish to have it done the second week of October with Dr. Rubaut. Im soooo excited for everyone!
