Wheres our Oct 2006 people??? I know Ive been m.i.a. and just realized its our bandaversary. Really would like to hear from the original crew to see everyones progress and see how I measure up. Cant say that Ive been very rigid with my diet but very happy with my weight loss so far. It hasnt been easy the past year but always a progression downwards on the scale. Ive had my fair share of running to bathroom in resturaunts to pb but also has been a learning experience along the way of what is tolerable and not tolerable. I had one instance after a fill of being overfilled no joy in that. But overall has been a great year because I feel like I got my life back. Im no longer afraid go out Im enjoying life again. I would like to hear from you guys. Please write. Ive lost 62 pounds to date and have 30 more to go!:whoo:

After a year you would think I could get me ticker working! I as of today have lost 63 pounds.

How soon did everyone start excercising after
roxy123 posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
they were banded?? I was curious to see how soon you started working out after being banded? Other than mild strolls around the block. -
Hi all. Its been so long since I last posted you probably dont remeber me! I hope u do. Im slowing down but really, really happy with my weight loss so far. I feel like Im in the home stetch but sitting idle. Honestly Im not doing everything I should be though...not on a regular basis (aka)excercise. I have 25 more pounds to hit my goal and then another 10 to be at fight'n weight. Cant hardly believe Im almost there. Ive been catching up on the threads. Ive missed alot! You all are doing so GREAT! Keep up the great work all!

Christine- I think a 12/14 is very realistic. It wasnt all that long ago that I was there. For our height we wear it well. I weigh 222 right now and I like 180, that puts me at a 10/12. Thats my goal. Right now Im wearing a 16 but have no FREAK'N clothes for work. I know, I know its a great problem but clothes for us tall beauties is even harder to find than bigger clothing....so imagine being tall, big and beautiful....of course! Well anyway let me know if you want to swap. Sounds like your going to be too small for the suits though. Yeah!
-
I have alot of suits that arent working anymore, however I want to reserve them for that special someone who has as hard of a time that I do. I 6ft with a really long inseam...34'. If there is anyone out there that is as tall and a WOMAN who wears and need suits, sizes 20/18 ish write me.

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
roxy123 replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just got my third fill. Im at 2.9 and loving it. Loving it as long as I dont eat anything stupid.(know what I mean) So most of the time I just dont. -
I havnt checked in -in months. Just thought I share some of my more positive experiences and I hope this helps you. I now have had 3 fills. Between the 2nd and third fill I basically stayed the same weight for 2 months bouncing back and forth 3-5 pounds. BAM! fill #3 now Im making major progress. In less than 2 weeks Im down 9 pounds. I now know what a proper fill is. I love it. So, moral of the story, if some of you are sitting at the same weight DEMAND another fill. We didnt get this surgery for nothing.

That is so weird that you should say that..."commom foods" because my diet DOES consist of tortilla chips, chili and protien shakes. Solid foods such as broiled chicken, tuna, basically anything that doesnt melt in my mouth I have a very hard time eating. Thanks for the advice. I thought I was the only one.

Why! , why!, why! do I have pain in my left side 3 MONTHS post op???? Can you tell Im a little cranky? Its a very nagging annoying pain I get in my left side, Sometimes changing in location to my side/back. I have to change positions all the time to find some peace with the pain. Sometimes its when Im walking, sometimes when Im sitting, sometimes when Im lyng down. Its awful. The only other time I had similiar pain was right after the surgery which according to the posts on here is very common. This pain came agin about 1 month ago and has been on and off ever since. Oh yeah, almost forgot t tell you - it also sometimes creeps up into my left shoulder. Please if anyone has any imput, theories, or is experiencing the same please respond. It would mean so much to me to know if this is something normal or not normal or worse.

Hi - Just weighing in and seeing how ya'all are doing. I lost 2 this week. Im having ticker issues. I definitely feel I can contribute the weight loss due to the fact I just had my fill prior to Thanksgiving. Like it or not I just really wasnt able to indulge. What a WONDERFUL thing! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and for all getting thier first fill this week, good luck to you. Its great!

Me too. 1 down.

Hello my friends! Sunday,- this Sunday or next?? To start the Christmas challange. I got my fill yesterday! It really isnt a big deal. The only thing I can complain about is I now have a big black and blue where the port is and my port site was a bit sore, but today it went away. I did have a little issue with some tunafish on a cracker today but I think it was because I was eating too fast. All in all dont worry about geting your fill.

I would like to to do the Christmas challange! IM GETTING MY FIRST FILL THIS FRIDAY Yeah!

A thread for Single Bandsters

KristiB, Ive been to Weeki Wachee! The mermaids are there! Thats what my two daughters would say. Now they are 12 and 13 but when they were around your childs age we went. I live in Orlando so we did a day trip. Its only about an hour or so away. I would make it a combo Orlando/WW though. Not too much going on in that area but the water park itself. Im a single Mom and have always taken my girls on trips every year by myself. We just got back from the Atlantis in the Bahamas. The girls loved it. -
Want to hear what a bad banster I was today? You gals are doing great. I went to a movie tonight with my 2 girls and we stopped at the food court for dinner and I fe liltke a could handle a slice pizza. Well you know that horrid PB thing we have all read about?..............Yup, right in the food court into a napkin. My kids were terrified. They thought I was having a heart attack.

A thread for Single Bandsters
roxy123 replied to NewBeginnings2018's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Chrispy and all other single bandsters, (On a lighter note) I have to tell you this story of my friend who is also a single bandster. I about fell off my chair when she told me this. My friend lost a significiant amount of weight, aroud 60lbs and she has been going out alot and having a good time going out on dates. Well, she met this guy that she liked and decided to be intimate with him. I guess she didnt prepare for explaining her band scars, which you can barely see anyway- So this guy asks her in bed "How did you get those scars?" She quickly answers and says "I was in a knifing accident"!!!!! -

Perfect food to feel full for a long time
roxy123 replied to prasman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 1 medium yellow onion, chopped 5 cloves garlic, chopped 1 tablespoon kosher salt 2 teaspoons chili powder 1 teaspoon dried oregano 1 tablespoon tomato paste 1 chipotle chile en adobo, coarsely chopped, with 1 tablespoon sauce 1 pound ground turkey 1 (12-ounce) Mexican lager-style beer 1 (14 1/2-ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes, with their juice 1 (15 1/2-ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained Sliced scallions, cilantro sprigs, avocado, sour cream, grated Monterey jack cheese, and/or tortilla chips, for garnish, optional Heat the olive oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion, garlic, salt, chili powder, and oregano and cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste and the chipotle chile and sauce; cook 1 minute more. Add the turkey, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and cook until the meat loses its raw color, about 3 minutes. Add the beer and simmer until reduced by about half, about 8 minutes. Add the tomatoes—crushing them through your fingers into the skillet—along with their juices and the beans; bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until thick, about 10 minutes. Ladle the chili into bowls and serve with the garnishes of your choice. Cook's Note: A skillet's larger surface area reduces sauces faster than simmering in a saucepan -
Perfect food to feel full for a long time
roxy123 replied to prasman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My favorite filler up food is turkey chili. Its the most filling thing Ive had since being banded. I make it at home and 1 cup of it keeps me full for hours! It must be the kidney beans also the turkey. -

Me too. It was great. Went alone also. -
Hi all. Im going on the 17th, just a few days short of six weeks. Chrispy how are ya girl! Ive been walking and it seems to help with the energy and the weight loss. Im on soft foods now and feel like I could practically eat anything but I def. learned to stop when I feel satisfied. My weight loss slowed drastically after the liquids and I also have been tracking my calories to anywhere from 800-1200, depends on the day. I hope all of you are doing great!
