I had my surgery on Wednesday, Oct 12th. I had to be at the hospital at 8:45am. As soon as I got there, they brought me in to put on a gown and put me in one of the pre-op waiting rooms. During the time I was in there I saw several nurses (checked vitals, put in IV, etc). I also saw the anesthesiologist, the two doctors, and the bariatric coordinator from the doctor's office. My husband was with me the whole time. At about 11:30am or 12pm, they said it was my turn. I was able to walk to the OR. I was introduced to the nurses who would be in surgery, got up on the OR table, and fell asleep. I woke up in recovery. My husband had been called to come back in since I was out of surgery. As soon as a room was available, they brought me up and offered me ice chips since I was parched. I got up to go to the bathroom. They brought me down to radiology to check the band. Everything was good. I was in some pain, but not too bad. I had a hiatal hernia that was repaired. That seems to have given me the most pain. My chest hurts and it hurts to take a deep breath. I stayed overnight. I didn't sleep very well, probably because after the anesthesia, all I wanted to do was sleep all afternoon. I stayed overnight and did a lot of walking. Got to leave the next day. I'm still a little sore, but I haven't needed any of the pain meds today. I'm having trouble getting in all the clear liquids that they expect at the slow rate that they expect you to drink them. But I'm trying. Hoping that everything else will go easily.
