It was a dream of mine for a very long time to get help with the yo yo dieting I have experienced my whole life. At one time I did try to get approved through my insurance company but was denied, even with getting an attorney out of California and fighting the insurance company through three appeals I was still denied, this denial lead me to lose 70 lbs, here I am 4 years later I had gained that all back and found that not only had I gained back the 70 lbs but had gained about 110 lbs putting me at 378. A friend of mine was enouraging me to check on getting financed for the surgery, I knew just from banking experience that I would not be approved realistically through s bank so I called Dr. Tersigni's office and was given a number for a place that finances medical loans and to my surprise I was approved for $8400.00, Dr. Tersigni's charge for the surgery is $10,000, I was so happy I knew that this meant my dream could actually become a reality. After my consultation appointment on September 30,2009 I was put on a high protein liquid diet, for me to have the surgery for the $10.000 I had to have a BMI of 50 or less otherwise I would have to go to the hospital to have the surgery and that would bring the charge to almost $16,ooo which was out of my reach. So I knew I had to lose at least 50 lbs, I scheduled the surgery for December 14th so I had a date and I did it!! My surgery was three weeks and I have lost a total of 70 lbs. Im looking forward to talking to other bandsters to hear there stories and just for the support and to remind myself that I am living my dream!!
