Thats not a dumb question at all. I've had a few things get stuck... the worst is chicken .... each time I say to my family... well I'll never eat that again! When food gets stuck it hurts and you have that mouth watering feeling right before you throw up. (sorry being graphic now) and when you do throw up its not like normal due to the fact that its mostly saliva first and then the actual particles of food come up. The "stuck" feeling for me goes away after I throw up. As far as slipping it hasn't happened to me ... thank goodness. Hope this helps

I felt the same way 2 days ago. My family and I were shopping and they said they were starving! (let them be on liquids for 10 days!) So we went to the waffle house, not the best place but thats what they wanted, and do you know what they ordered?! My favorite sandwhich that they serve, cheese steak!!! And as I was looking around everyone laughing and eating. I thought what the hell was I thinking, everyone in here is heavy. Whats the big deal? I should just just stay fat and happy. I had to stop and have a talk with myself (crazy I know) but I had the lap band to improve my health! Be around to see my kids and grandkids grow up! Had to shake off those negative thoughts and look towards the positive!

Hanging my head in shame... I too cheated... I was banded June 19th. Even though I'm on "mushies" right now I stay hungry!!! I had a homemade beef burrito and a hand full potato chips. I've since behaved myself.... I just can't wait for the first fill!

I'm 12 days out from surgery. My Dr told me it was ok to go swimming....

I just had my first doctors visit! 12 pounds down!!! And released to go swimming!

I just had the band on Saturday and am doing really good. Back to work today!!! Yea!!! But... A co-worker who has had the band just came back from the Dr's and was told she was anemic. Just how much Iron does a women(person) need?

Water is suppose to help with cellulite. Rubbing your legs with lotion will help too. Like a massage to help break down the pockets. There is a cream made by Aveno that was on Oprah and another show a couple of weeks ago. They showed womens before and after... seemed to help.

I'm having my surgery this Friday and can't wait to start posting pictures! I talked with my b/f on this exact thing last night. I want to document every month! I'm just very excited. I'm excited about looking better, feeling better, being able to climb a set of stairs with out filling like I'm going to have a heart attack. Playing with my kids with having to take a break after five minetes. To be able to wear "cute" clothes and not the ones that hide the belly rolls. That felt good just saying that!

I'm on the second day of the liquid diet... I just had egg drop soup... now I'm wondering if that would be considered a clear soup!!!??? Have I just screwed up and ate the wrong thing? Help!

To keep from freakin out too bad I called the Doctors office... they said not to worry just try to stay away from the eggs... went to won ton.... try ordering wonton soup with out the wonton's ... the waitress's face was priceless:lol:

I also have federal BC/BS and want to the answer to the out of pocket expenses. I have an appointment on 4 March and if I find out anything I'll send you a reply.

I really want to have the surgery but I have two friends who have had it... and they vomit all the time! Just about after every meal... Why does this happen? If I have the surgery will I have to deal with that for the rest of my life? :smile2:

I would love to have the Lap Band but don't know for sure if I would qualify, medically that is. My BMI is right at 40 but as far as health wise I don't have any issues. My sugar is good. Though - I've been told I snore like a "freight train". Is this the first place I should start? Seeing if I have sleep apnea? Should I go to a Band Seminar first? I’ve talked with my family Dr and he’s all for having the Band done. I would have to get approval from my insurance. Don’t I have to have medical issues also to get approved? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.:scared2:

I've read alot of threads on here but I'm not seeing anything concerning medical conditions that qualify someone for the surgery. Am I mistaken or isn't there a criteria with insurance companies to pay for the procedure? If there is what are some of the issues that folks have had to qualify?

Thanks for the reply... I'm new to this and really want the surgergy. I've done tons of research on the band as well as other weightloss surgeries. The Band seems to be the safest. I guess I just need to make the appointment :wink:
