Almost 58, is it too late for me?
chubnomore replied to Froggie D's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am the same age as you and had my surgery just a little over 2 weeks ago. It's never too late for a fresh start! I have lost 10 lbs. since 2/12 and already feel so good! I look forward to being a younger, healthier, happier version of myself. I have 2 adult children and 3 grandkids that I want to be around for! I actually wish I had done the surgery 10 years ago, but cie la vie. I say Go for it! I will be here to support you - just give me a holler. Barbara -
Hi Ashley, I had my surgery on 2/12 and I know exactly what you're going through. I HATE sleeping on my back, and had no choice the first few nights, so I got very little sleep. Around the 4th night, I was able to get on my side with the help of pillows, and it made all the difference. I also took a sleeping pill so that I could get uninterupted sleep. Sleep is really important in your body's healing, so do what you can to get some. I hope that helps. Hang in there, by day 5 you are going to feel so much better.

I was banded on Friday, 2/12 and have not been able to get comfortable enough to get any decent amount of sleep. I am usually a stomache sleeper, and just cannot fall asleep on my back. I've tried sitting up and laying flat, then I tried to shift to my side but it feels like I'm stretching my insides out. I would give anything for a good night's sleep. Any advice appreciated. thanks.

Please be honest with me.....

i had my surgery on 2/12 so we are pretty close in our progress. Your question above is, "where can I find the strength" to get back on the right track and your answer is right below your question. I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH. As a fellow believer, I must give over the control of my life to ONe who is able to keep me from falling. Please spend some time in prayer, asking God to help you and he will. I am praying for you right now. This is not an easy journey and we only get out of it what we put in. Please don't give up- you can do it. I will keep you in my prayers because this is a hard journey. -
