dmcguire0408 started following 4 days post-op, really bad hunger pains, 3 weeks after surgery wondering about drinking alcohol, HELP ME! I'm on my pre op diet and making bad choices. and and 7 others

This is a typical response. I chose not to tell anyone in my family I had the surgery...because I know that would be the reaction I got. DON'T listen to them. I was banded 4 months ago and still don't have restriction...but I have managed to lose 47 pounds in the last 4 months because I eat good and exercise. It's all what you put into it. Don't let others discourage you!!!! You are doing this for you! Good Luck with your surgery! You will do great

HELP ME! I'm on my pre op diet and making bad choices.

I totally understand where everyone is coming from....yes you need to be committed before you have the surgery. But just know that the first 6 weeks were the hardest--2 preop and 4 post op...but you can do it. Commit to yourself today. Follow your doctors orders....it gets easier you just have to believe in yourself that you CAN do it. Good Luck!!!! -

Question..Just started eating real food
dmcguire0408 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I usually eat greek yogurt for breakfast but today I wanted to do something different. So i did one egg, and cut up 2 oz of chicken and just a very little broccoli and cooked it up. I am suppose to have 2-3 oz of prot per meal so i thought this was great, but after i cooked it it looked like so much! It had to be a cup of food if not more. Is this too much to be eating? I mean I ate it all and felt fine..but it looked like so much more than I have been eating regularly. I dont want to stretch my pouch I just got nervous..... -

I was band 1/11/10 and i felt EXACTLY the same!! the growls from my stomach were sooo loud! it was keeping me up at night. when i went to my 2 weeks check up my doc said it probably wasn't hunger, it was gas bouncing up and down inside...i think it was hunger. but by day 5 i felt fine and really haven't been hungry since except right before meals. Hope this helps!! it only gets better from here! good luck -

Surgery 1.20.10 and scared!!
dmcguire0408 replied to tamra.'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First of all, congrats on the pre-op loss ..thats great!!!!! As for the surgery, I was just banded last monday (1/11) and it was cake. I was up walking as soon as i was out of the recovery room! There will be quite a bit of gas but thats really the only uncomfortable part and as long as you are up and walking it will work itself right out. Don't be scared, it will be worth it in the end. Small price to pay for something that will change your life ...ya know? Good luck and stay positive!!! -

I dont know what happened but the last few days I haven't been starving...maybe I am just getting use to being hungry lol. Just make sure you get all your liquids and drink your protein drink!!! It get easier day by day. I finally feel like the cravings are starting to go away ... -
