    Pain in stomach area

I am experiencing the same problem as you. For about the passt 2-3 weeks I have been constipated. I have tried everything that normally works to help that, but no relief yet. I have increased my working out & excercise the past month and I am getting sharp pains in my stomach area. I haven't been over-eating, so I am not sure what's going on. I am going to schedule an appt ASAP. I'm hoping it's not related to the LB.
  3. Yeah, it seems really fishy. I feel like I should be able to pay them the cash price & have some money to spend on new clothes LOL. But you're right....I understand now why insurance premiums are high - dooctors & hospitals are making a KILLING!!!
  4. How much did your surgeon charge & how much did your insurance cover? I have BlueCross/BlueShield & the surgeon I had my surgery through is out of network. So the surgeon bills my insurance and whatever the insurance approves, they send a check to me, in my name to give to the surgeon. I had a first evaluation through the surgeon, then a gall bladder removal then the Lap-Band. My surgeon billed for $75,890.00 for the operating room, recovery room, anesthesia, sterile supplies & drugs it says. My insurance approved it ALL. So they sent me a check for $75,890.00 in MY name. A girl I spoke to in the billing dept. at the Dr's office said it wouldn't have been that much if I was paying cash for the procedure. This just seems crazy! I wish I was getting some of that money!!!
  5. I had my Band put in 12-30-09. After the first couple days the initial pain of the surgery faded away. Then the other night I was watching TV and started laughing and the area where the port is was hurting quite a bit. And every time I laugh, it still hurts. Then this morning I sneezed and I got a real sharp pain in the same area. Is this normal? When does this pain go away? I'm a bit nervoud and put in a call to my doctor but today is a surgery day so the nurse told me he probably wont call until late tonight.

    6 days post op, paranoid!

I had mine done on 12-30-09. The day of surgery and the day after I had NO desire to eat. Then each day I have become increasingly more hungry. Yesterday I took a tiny pinch of shredded cheese and chewed the heck out of it and when it was pretty wet & mushy swallowed it. I felt like it really helped LOL. Then this morning at work a co-worker brought in donuts. I took a bite, chewed it a while and spat it out. That did make me feel better, but I dont think I will do that again as it just made me really miss having those things. I just keep hoping that the hunger will go away. Right now I am drinking a Slim fast shake in the morning, broth for lunch, brother for dinner with as much Water as I can handle in between. So far I am down about 6 lbs.
