Hi I don't have anything bad to say about the lapband I was a poster child for them as far as having one. I stop seeing my WLC because of being billed for fills I never got and it got to the point that they sent me a letter saying they would no longer see me............. I have a question about it getting removed if it has to come out do you have to have a weight loss surgeon to do it or can any dr remove it? The reason I am asking is yesterday I got my CT report from my cancer dr and he said it had moved up alot and he felt it needed to be removed right away........... I got my band in 09 lost 150 lbs and have kept it off all this time with only 4 cc in my 10 cc band. I have had some problems with pb's the last few months but blamed it on stress and not being careful when eating... The dr that did this was 4 hours away and that isn't something I can do at this time if they would see me as I am not sure they would even do that after all the problem I caused over the charges, as I did report it to my insurance company and showed the poof. thanks for any answers. Well with the help from another on this site I am going to start my own blog, So I can look back and see how things are going or where they may have gone wrong. I got my band Aug 24 09 and it almost didn't happen because of a mistake the clinic made with date and time and after driving 4 hours the night before to show up at 6 am and to find the doors locked and no one there after a hour wait I told hubby to just take me home. After getting back home the Dr called me and explain the oversight to me and told me to pick any day and come back and he would make sure it happened and that I was happy. Well it took me two weeks to be able to get back up there as I was doing this with only my hubby and young son knowing what I was doing so I had to work it out to leave town again with out anyone knowing why,,,, Well it was the best decison I made for me going and getting the band. I have lost 55.5 lbs already and feel like a new person. The sad part is my family that don't know, just think that I am losing the weight all on my own and at times I just want to look at them and say see it works and it wasn't a easy way out......... But I don't and just tell them thank you when someone says anything about how much thinner I am. I do have to get back into walking on my treadmill as I have slip and not being working out these last 2 weeks. But I have stayed with in my limits of band food so still losing but would be losing better if I worked out so as of today I am walking again.
