Well it's been 12 weeks now, and I am averaging 2.83#s loss a week. Of course there are days that the scale moves down and then back up again, but that's ok if the end result is a loss at the end of each week. Concentration is the key for me so now I am contemplating a vigorious routine beginning this weekend--even in the rain. Stress is a factor too that must be dealt with, and the past two weeks I did that. Now that I am through an inspection-passed, and caught up on planning the next three months at work, I am relaxed and relieved and will concentrate more on my weight loss. Currently I am at 109 kg's from 123.1 kg. 24 Apr will be my date of my 4th FILL, making it 8cc's in a 10cc band. Yes I planned my 4th FILL, I acutally delayed my FILL from May purposely to see if i could loose more on my own, with two weeks to go, I am sure I will loose some, but it's time to get my next FILL. Probably this will be my last FILL for a while as I will go through the spring and summer months with much activity. 100 #s loss goal is attainable in one year--will honestly try. Good Luck to all other bandster's, stay positive and let's help one another with our progress reports.

Hi, you sure have alot on your plate, but your a role model for some of us, so be FLEXIBLE, and sit-back and analyze your schedule and readjust some, it's ok not to reach a certain goal at a specific time, just readjust that goal to coincide with the dealings of everyday life. Stay focused and continue to meet your daily tasks. I am like you not much time in a day to use for myself, but we have to make that time through flexibility and adjustments. Yes we all get side tracked with the holidays, family members etc, but that's ok for us bandster's, just refocus and keep going. You can do it. I wish the best for you, your friend Ken. -

Hi, I think your doing great and just fine, relax and think about the basics of getting the lapband, liquids. For a day or so just go back to liquids then resume your current plan. I have weighted myself every morning and my weight has kept at one point for two weeks, then all of a sudden it began to drop. Rem when your body changes back to muscle, you still have the weight, but now it's muscle-you are beginning to change so take your time and stay positive. I have had 3 fills, and will probably get my 4th on the 24th of Apr 10. I have been holding off to see if I could do this myself-still trying--some success but think one more fill will do it for me. I currently have 6ccs in a 10cc band. Anyway I think your just fine, hang in there and it will come. You have already reached a remarkable goal. Remember the end is in sight, it is attainable. Best wishes and luck on your journey. Your almost there!

I eat omelets with cheese sometimes, but I have some coffee, sipping it, not gulping. I always prepare a drink, either water or milk with my evening meal. I sip it after eating a few bites. Tonight I had mashed potatoes and some meat loaf, you know one of those microwaveable meals with a little cup of pork and beans. Of course all small portions when eating and eat slow. No problems. Afterwards I sip on the glass of milk to smooth out the flow. Drinking small amounts is ok as long as you control it. If it works then it's ok. Enjoy your journey like I am.

Yes I had that and like it too. I think this is telling one your loosing. Keep a strong attitude and stay in control. Eat enough protein foods 60 to 80 grams a day if possible. Drink water too. Try sugarless popsicles, jello, or pudding. Good luck. I love it when I hear my stomach growling, sometimes you can hear it across the room, hehehehee.

Trish i had soups, and V8 juice the first three days after. Then I switched to mashed potatoes, and pork and beans. I also had baked fish or chicken-boiled the chicken first then baked it. When I had a piece of chicken or fish 3/4 cup, I had a vegetable--peas, pease and carrots. Or a meat and mashed potatoes 1/2 cup. I had a half glass of 2% milk but sipped it. I also had pinto beans, and chicken noodle soup in a box. For the soup I added peas. I then had about 6 crackers with it too. After a week I was on one scrambled egg or omelet with cheese--took two multivitamins in the morning. You could also have oatmeal about 3.4 cup. Afternoon I bought me some tunasalad kits with crackers- cost about 1.25 and I would eat one at lunch. Evening times I had chicken or fish with a veggie. I ate my dinner between 5 and 6 trying not to eat after 6. If I got hungry I would try some sugarless popsicles, or pudding or jello. I of course tried to fill up on water inbetween the three meals I was having each day. Now I get up at 5 am and have coffee, at 6:30 I have a Ensure choc shake and two multivitamins. This carries me to 12 noon easily. Then it's tuna salad and crackers or mashed potatoes. I try to drink water the rest of the work day untill supper. Hope this helps a little. I now eat some regular meats like filet mignon wrapped in bacon. I first sere the meat on the stove, and then I bake it at 350 degrees for 30 min turning every 5 min. It cooks fast- you have to watch it. Cut it up into small bite size pieces with a scissors--it won't get stuck, I had that experience once--no more. I had the meat choice and a bowl of peas. Very filling. If your read throughout this forum you will see some recipes others are trying. Hope this is what your looking for.

Hi as for FILLS my doc here in Korea wants to give me mine every two weeks, and I had three FILLS already. My 4th will be the end of April as I have purposely extended my time cause I am aggressively attacking my behavior. You will reach your peak for a few days or even longer, mine was for a week prior to my last FILL. You pretty know when your due a FILL, so to speak. I have been steady now for about a week but I know the scales will begin moving, be patient, and also make sure your eating enough proteins. Best of luck and enjoy your journey as it will be alot of fun as you will notice. Stay motivated and stick to the diet plan. You will see.

First for your event try baking a spiral ham in a crock pot for 6 to 8 hours in pinapple juice and some brown sugar, when done, place it in a nice dish covered with a jar of cherries and juice-I used two jars of cherries, great holiday meat choice. I experiment alot since being banded and last night I had two filet mignon 2 ounces each of meat--I seared them in a fry pan first, cook for five minutes on each side low heat in olive oil and then take out and then bake in oven for 25 mintues on 350 heat. Turn over every 5 minutes untill your desired doneness. I cut two up into very tiny pieces so I had at least a cup full to eat, of course my three dogs shared the rest with me. I had a 1/2 cup with carrots and peas mixed. No problems and felt very comfortable and full afterwards. Weighted myself in the morning and maintained my weight so I am satisfied. I have been loosing about 2.84 #s a week since Jan 10. I did have chicken the other day and had my first stuck episode. Within a minute I was ok, and no problem. In Apr I will go for my 4th FILL for a total of 8 cc's in my 10 cc band. Now I am just trying to control my weight loss myself-practicing self control and exercise, it's working but slowly. We are banded for weight loss and have all the time in the world-one year to reach our goals. We can achieve so be positive, and enjoy life as a bander. Glad to share thoughts, Ken

Crush or Chew your vitamin into small pieces and wash down with a shake, like I do. I usually have two multivitamins daily with a shake or water--breakfast. Protein items are best, tuna, fish, chicken and soups--they have been working for me. Exercise is a key factor too, 30 min to an hour a day if possible. Good luck

I would like to say that one would be ok, as for me I crave Pepsi and had once had a half cup. It did not affect me and I still continued to loose my #s. I have been averaging 2.85 #s loss a week. I do monitor my calories along with grams of food, so I honestly think that a drink does not hurt every once in a while. I tried it, and this is how I felt so, I don't feel like I have cheated my diet plan with my lapband surgery. Besides diet drinks has zero zero zero everything. Just stay within the limits of what your band will hold at one setting. Be happy and smile, Have a drink every once in a while.

I am happy for you. You have come along way and have a very successful story of being a lapbander. It sure build's one's self esteem, not to mention looking fabulous. A remarkable story, and I am happy for you. -
Hello, first let me say that for the first time in my life I am going to answer a writing with God mentioned in it. You have been shown the light, and just remembering God is the first step. He answers all prayers. You are on a journey and he is leading you to success. When you lost your weight loss rythum, after a week or two, then it was time to get another fill. Do that, go and get a third fill and then see if the restriction is there. Go back to the basics one day, have soup for our meal-lunch or dinner, with baked piece of chicken. I had either a boiled egg for breakfast or some oatmeal. For your evening meal, have either chicken or fish, baked with a veggie-mashed potatoes works and peas. Small helpings, 1/2 cup veggies and 1/2 cup chicken or fish. Take charge of yourself and make it work. The Lord works in us and through us, so when he calls, answer back. He is guiding you to a successful and better life, as he has me. I am ready for my 4th fill, but am waiting three more weeks to see if I can beat the odds and do it myself, without it. Timing for the fills is truly up to the individual, how you are adjusting to your lapband. Don't worry about others, just do it for you. Most important is to stay positive and enjoy everyday of your new lifestyle. You will reach your desired goal and then you can readjust your lifestye then. Hang in there and stay focused. Loosing the #s is a long process, but you will see the light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck.

Good Resutls, keep it up. Stay positive and the favorable results will happen. I am averaging 2.7 pounds lost a week since 4 Jan 10. Fantastic, keep us posted.

Great story of your success. I like this. You have done well. Can you share your daily eating habits with us while on your journey. Most of us are looking for a variety of foods to eat, not just one or two options. Congrats on your loss, your an inspiration to all of us.
-
What I have seen is it depends on the doctor and individual. Every two weeks I have been going to the doc getting 2 cc's per visit, three so far. Next month will go for my 4th. My experience was a gradual one with the FILL'S. One fill in your case may last a long time, and time will tell. Good luck.

Wow What an experience. I have not had anything like that yet, but on a smaller scale. I ate fried rice yesterday with chicken bits but I did not drink any water for 20 to 30 min. I did have a Big Mac the other day, when the wife and I went shopping. Ate it slowly but could only eat 3/4 of it, with a sip or two of diet coke. Felt fool and then I walked it off in the store for an hour. Did not gain any extra weight, matter of fact, been on the down side this week, went from 110 to 109 kg. Thanks for sharing your experience. -
My wife scheduled me for my surgery, yes I had second thoughts the night prior but once there WHAMMO, all was quick and easy, execellent surgery and then came the wonderful weeks to follow to loose those unwanted pounds. Yes you will need to change your eating habits but it's for a great cause. The feelings are unbelieveable. One feels more energetic, self-esteem rises to all heights, and you loose the pounds and have a strong desire to try out smaller clothes. It's a fabulous experience and I am happy I elected to follow through. I am fortunate as I did not have any pre-dieting to do, I just met the doc, agreed to a date and then followed the instructions he provided up to the night prior--which was stop eating at 12 midnight. I had a steak dinner at 7 pm that night. Now it's been 2 months and 4 weeks and I am at 239 #s from 270 #s. There is nothing to be afraid of, as the fills are hardly felt, except the first one for me-like a bee stung me, hehehe. But the other two fills I had did not feel a thing, 5 minutes there and I was done. Sit back and relax and if you have a desire to finally shed some #s, this is the way to go. Once your weight goal is obtained then have the fluid taken out and enjoy life. I will do that and feel great about it. The end result is we will look great, and feel great. A NEW BEGINNING!!

Amanda, great progress, I am happy for you. Your life story is much like mine, just did not want to exercise, kept putting it off and during the winter months, WHAMMO gained 20 to 40 pounds. I started at 270 and now I am at 238 since my surgery. Not bad as the progress is there although I have stagnated at a few weight's this month. I feel great, with alot of energy, get up at 3 or 4 am and feel ready for anything. Glad I have had this change. Before the surgery I was getting up every hour or two to use the bathroom, and now it's not untill the morning, cool. Oh and another good thing about my surgery is I can now tie my shoes, Amen to that. Getting my flexibility back. Well I shared some of my attributes from the surgery with you, and hope to be successful in a year. Ultimate goal is to loose 100 #s. Good luck and hope to see you soon.
