    Successful Surgery 1-4-10

Started the new year with my surgery. Was evaluated 5 Dec 09 and had my surgery on 4 Jan 10. Traveled 4 hours and arrived 10 minutes prior to my surgery time. Within 10 minutes after warming up, I was in surgery and 30 minutes later done. I stayed in the hospital another day due to the snow fall we had in our area-no transportation. The next day I felt better for the taxi and bus ride (4 hours) to my home. Following the diet plan, liquids, water, a vitamin, and soups. The key I see is drinking water for me. I have seen a loss of about 6 pounds since Mon. I started this surgery with a weight of 270 and my goal will be 170 or 160. Of course I am 55 yrs old. My pain is subsiding now and next week 1-16-10 I will see the doctor for my first visit after surgery. If there are any suggestions on what to eat confortably after 4 weeks (solids) please advise. I can be reached at giby97@hotmail.com.:thumbup:

    Here's to Beginnings

Hello All, especially Kay, I am Ken Gibson and you and I are starting the new year right. I had my surgery on 1-4-10. It's been three days and I am at home resting, and tomorrow I will try to exercise some with my stationary bike. I am at 270 now, but since the surgery I have dropped about 6 pounds. I have noticed my symptions are the same as yours. I liked your entry cause it's the same as for me. Any assistance from all the pro's who have been past this stage would be helpful. Wish you a Great Year.

    Am i eating too much????

Hello All, I am Ken Gibson and just about one week out from having my surgery done. I am on liquid diet, plus vitamins, and water, plus I add soup. My first appointment is in one more week (2wks). I appreciate your information about eating proper and maintaining. My surgery was done on 1-4-10. Any advice as to what a meal program should be at the 4 week mark. You may send advice to giby97@hotmail.com. Thank you
