I was banded 2-12 yesterday. Mostly discomfort and gas. They give u med for pain and it works. But you won't be able to drink much so go sloooooow. I still feel like it was worth it. Hope all goes well for you. And get a lapband buddy. It helps! Me and my buddy had it done 1 day apart and we text all day everyday and it helps

Don't feel bad....you have to realize that your band is not yet filled to give you that restriction....remember you had surgery so its swollen where the band is and they slowly fill your band as the swollen gets better. Once you hit what they call your sweet spot and feel full after 1 cup of food...then you will be able to control your portions and feel full....right now...just hang in there and try to eat healthier foods....if you don't lose who cares! Just don't gain any from today on and you will be fine....plus feeling depressed is only gonna make you wanna eat more...the band takes time just be patient...it doesn't work as fast as the gastric bypass and sleeve

Well I am a patient of Dr. Feiz and my surgery is scheduled for feb 12th. I agree with the Dr...it was actually fun and I befriended the other person I had my consultation with. Plus you also get a 1 on 1 talk with the Dr. afterward and you get to discuss things that pertain personally to your situation. The staff at the Beverly Hills office is great. They actually call me before I even get a chance to call them to keep me in the loop. I got approved within 4 days with my insurance co and everything has been going smoothly and they answer all my questions when I have one. Dr Feiz seemed pretty cool and caring. Maybe the office you went to just has a couple of bad employees I dont really know but that shouldn't affect your oppinion about the Dr. himself. I think he's great and wouldn't go anywhere else. Things go fast with them because they are experienced with the whole process.

I have dieted and lost weight many many times and I have become like a work out expert sorta. Trust me when I say not only is it better support for the knees since we are overweight, but you burn WAY more calories on the eliptical. What I would recommend is do the eliptical and if you feel like you can't finish the time you wanted to....jump on the treadmill and walk the rest of the time...its a good way to build up your stamina

Hey everyone! Well I had my endoscopy Wednesday and they found ulcers. I was completely shocked! I didn't have a hernia thouhg. They put me on meds and I have to take another endoscopy before surgery. Luckily I don't have to reschedule anything....all the Drs say its enough time for ulcers to be healed...just wanted to post this in case anyone else has this problem....all my other tests are schedule for jan 19th so I'm really excited to get everything done

To answer the last person's statements....black entertainment television shows and award shows were created because grammys and oscars at one point were racist and black entertainers were rarely awarded for their talent and tv shows were created because diverse shows were few and rare. Even today....most major movies have white people starring in them, but I will say lately that has been changing and things are more diverse. Also, black people use the n word to make fun of other black people they know...when a white person says it they don't know if you are playing or being racist which is why its best for them not to use it at all...I'm black and I don't use the word but I understand why some use it and why some people should never say it

They said it would be 30 minutes and it was but there was a 4 hour wait where I went since we all had the same appointment time. Good news is I don't have a hernia...bad news is I have ulcers in my Esophaugus. So I have to take some meds to clear them up, but I plenty of time in between now and my surgery date of February 12th. I wish January would just go away!

I am awaiting surgery date but dr. Says late january or february and I'm excited for the 1st months post surgery weight loss. How much did everyone lose the first month...what was your initial goal? Any advice for first month bandsters

Wow! That's great. Just found out my surgery is feb12. I hope I get the same results...but you are right....5 pounds at this point is better than no pounds.

Hey everyone! Just got my surgery date Feb 12! My Dr. Is Michael Feiz in Beverly Hills California. I'm 26 yrs old. Now 240 but goal weight is 140. Decided to have surgery because I have always been able to lose weight and get down to 170 but I always gain it back so hoping this will allow me to catch myself before gaining large numbers. I have a 3 yr old daughter too so I need my energy back and right now I completly feel out of shape....plus I want a great summer beach body and my goal is to have it this summer! Family totally supports me so I'm just excited and I'm gonna go start looking for protein shakes and get a new blender and I plan to start dieting Friday. Yay!!!!!!!! I'm a february bandster

I have bluecross Blueshield ppo and just need nutrition and psycological evaluations and that's it. Got approval in 3 days!!!!

I'm getting band by dr. Feiz sometime jan or feb...anyone else in nearby cities? Tell me ur stories and experiences

Yay! My insurance gave approval for surgery....unfortunately my surgery will be in early February and not January...but I have been overweight many years...i think i can wait a couple more weeks

Wow! You are doing really good....if I can get 30 lbs. In the first month...I would be thrilled...I'm so happy for you....keep me updated on how you are doing.

Ooh its cool to hear from someone else that's seeing dr. Feiz. My evaluations were literally like 15 minutes each and over phone....if they don't call u...just call them until u get response....but love dr.feiz office....they call me before I think to call then...just did evals on jan 5th and they say I should get approval my Monday 11th....I'm so excited...let me know how it goes

Will be 27 on jan 26 and dr is trying to get me in for surgery by then....I too am in lakewood (by the mall) and am looking for others to chat with to keep me motivated and just share experiences....my dr will be dr. Feiz in beverly hills and will also be at cedar sinai hospital....how was everyones stay @ the hospital and did anyone stay overnight?
