I have had 3 fills, and each time I feel sick for about 2 days. Nothing bad just "off". I just take it easy and stick to liquids. -
Do you consider salad a "slider" food?
grumpys-wife replied to Phranp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Salad is my easy food! I have one just about everyday but since my band I skip the dressing. -

Indispensable tools?
grumpys-wife replied to perryjoyce's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me, I bought baby forks and spoons. Sounds funny but such a help to control how much I put into my mouth. When I use regular size I tend to eat to fast. And of course the kitchen scale. Good luck! -

Mental Clarity with Post-Op Diet?
grumpys-wife replied to jenpen2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YES! I noticed the clarity and a few days later people started to tell me that my eyes were clear and I look brighter. I am 2 months out and staying away from carbs. I feel great, no more junk food for me! -
being too overweight to feel good but not overweight enough for surgery
grumpys-wife replied to SUSANG0264's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep looking. I had surgery with BMI of 34. I am self pay. When I met with my Dr. he did point out that insurance would deny me. I must tell you this is the BEST thing I have ever done for myself!! So happy with my band. -

grumpys-wife replied to MrMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry to say but I did not cheat on pre-op or at all since my band. It was so hard at first but now I don't even think about it, I feel to good! -
Here in So. California I paid $12,200 on my AMEX. This includes overnight stay in hospital, all pre-op testing, psych and 2 years of follow ups and fills. Fills are all done by my surgeon as well.

Pre-op diet side effects
grumpys-wife replied to rldm's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Gingerjane - for me those pro-op headaches were the worst. I wanted to pound my head against a wall. In the past I would get headaches all the time but since my surgery (1 month today) I have not had 1! It is amazing. Good luck next Monday!! -
Very short pre-op diet...
grumpys-wife replied to MelissaN's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was 3 days of clear liquid with a BMI like yours. No problem with surgery. That was the hardest part of this so far. Best of luck! -

Looking into lap band.
grumpys-wife replied to britbrit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was so scared before surgery. I had never had surgery and was terrified. As I was about to go into surgery I explained to EVERYONE that I had decided I could NOT do this. The very nice Dr, said to "breathe the oxygen, then we can discuss this" and next thing I was waking up! Yes, it is the best thing I have ever done for myself and my future. Being scared is normal, so don't let that stop you. Banded 2/16/10 :blushing:
